"How do I leave the family business with all that pressure?" "Why is there so much pressure to use my college degree?" "How do I support myself and start making money off of my hobbies?" We're going to get to that in this episode. Gabriela Ruiz, one of my closest friends from childhood, has taken that scary leap to step away from her family's business, pursue a new job in a field completely unrelated to her degree that put her in quite a financial situation, AND is still making time to think about her future dreams and passion projects. Coming from a family of entrepreneurship, Gabby has some great success stories and growth moments that definitely shocked and inspired me.

If you find yourself longing for the things others have, and continuously jump to the conclusion that anyone who's young and thriving is only doing so because of "daddy's money" then you have completely missed the point of working hard. We have the choice every single day to be bitter about the luxuries we want that others have, OR we can admire them, ask them how they did it, and change the way we look at the rich. There are always going to be some who did not earn it, or who chose to go into unethical business, but fixating on how they got it does not bring us a step closer to having it. This week, get motivated to undo that programming and step up, because those dreams you have that others are living is waiting for you take the initiative and start.

The most effective way to have our wishes fulfilled is to act as though they are already ours. There are moments that speed up the process of getting what we want, finding out what we don't, and becoming the person we have so badly wanted to be.
