The Roar

In today's episode Katherine and I have a long discussion about everything related to student financial assistance, and how Katherine's team can help you.

We touch on the Exceptional Expense Bursary; OSAP and all the responsibilities that come with having OSAP; the many scholarships, bursaries and awards that will be available for application on October 1st; campus student jobs and where to find the job postings (the student portal) and much more!

Todays episode was supposed to be a Yip, a much shorter episode where we would briefly tell you about different ways to get involved on campus... But, there are just so many ways to get involved, that we decided to go all in and give you all the information that we could.

So, if you want to get the absolute most out of your Sault College experience, then this is the episode for you!

I'll be talking about the new Student Success Team's initiative The Grove, and the Trees of The Grove, and how you can sign up ([email protected]!); Olami, Xye and Liz, fast becoming Roar regulars, stop by to talk about Peer Mentoring in Aviation, and Elections for the Student Union and so much more.

Laura from the Library joins me to chat about Peer Tutoring, and how to apply to become a Peer Tutor, and also promote our peer tutoring sessions and the awesome newly renovated and now open Library.

Also... if you want to know which School roared the loudest at Orientation stay tuned to the end to find out! And taking a page out of Marvel we have also added some bonus material at the very very end ;P

So stay tuned!

In our official launch for the Fall semester, we will hear from Sault College President, Dr. Ron Common, and the Sault College Student Union President, Olamipo Ogunnote, as they welcome our students back to campus for the start of a new academic year. Our first full return to campus since the start of the Pandemic!

The Orientation team and members of SCSU also stop by The Roar, to tell us about Orientation and exciting events students can expect for Frosh week and beyond!

We will also hear from Indigenous Studies, the Student Job Centre and the Success Team, there is so much to do and enjoy in the coming weeks on campus and we hope you'll hear just how excited we all are to welcome everyone to Sault College.

We had a lot of fun making this episode! Make sure you listen to the very end...

In our soft launch episode, we discuss the upcoming start of the semester and what students can expect from the middle of August, through to our main Orientation day, on Tuesday, September 6th, 2022. We hear from Tanya and Ray with Recruitment, about the advantages of coming to campus early to get set up with your student ID card, have a tour of campus, and much more.

We'll also be hearing from MarieClaire with the International Student Services team, who will be sharing information about our International Student Pre-Orientation and Orientation line up on September 1st and 2nd, as well as her favorite memory of Sault College.

In fact so many people wanted to share their love of Sault College with us, that we complied as many as we could fit into this episode, so, enjoy hearing some of the voices of Sault College!
