Every step you've taken so far matters.
They've shaped who, what, and where you are.
They're behind you, though.
Focus on what's ahead.
Celebrate and build upon your successes.
Learn from and leave behind your failures.
Your next step is more important than your last.
You’ve got this.
Others and their achievements often serve as inspiration.
Yet, admiration and respect can turn into idolatry, envy, or mimicry.
We stop living our own lives to live theirs.
In recognizing others' gifts, we lose sight of our own.
You were born an original.
Don't die a copy.
You’ve got this.
Fitness isn't only physical.
It's identifying worthy goals.
It's dealing with failure and mistakes.
It's pursuing incremental improvement.
It's putting in the work every single day.
It's realizing that you can become more.
These skills improve every other area of your life.
You’ve got this.
If you're struggling to reach your fitness goals, you may need a bit of work on how to set goals in the first place.
To learn why and how, check out my post all about goal setting at coachroba.com/goals
Have a lovely Wednesday :-)
If you look for the bad, you'll see it.
There's plenty of injustice, pain, and suffering.
If you look for the good, you'll see it.
There's plenty of love, kindness, and generosity.
What you look for is what you'll see.
Look for the good.
At times, you'll need to create it.
You've got this.
You might be your own harshest critic.
You might put yourself down at every opportunity.
You might deride yourself as stupid, fat, skinny, weak, a failure, lazy, or unworthy.
Would you speak that way to anybody else?
You are worthy of kind words.
That starts with your own.
You've got this.
"Sacrifice" isn't a dirty word.
It isn't about loss, missing out, or asceticism.
It's about trading good for better, delaying now for later, choosing that over this, paying a price for what you want.
Like any exchange, you decide whether it's worth it.
You are in control.
You've got this.
Some days, you really won't want to do the work.
Commit to just getting started.
Brush one tooth, prep one meal, lift one rep, read one page.
If you want to stop after that, that's totally cool.
You showed up.
Often, though, simply starting builds the momentum to keep going.
You've got this.
If you know consistency matters when it comes to your diet but struggle to stay committed, don't miss my article all about how to stick to your diet more consistently at coachroba.com/stick-to-your-diet
Have a lovely Wednesday :-)
Things won't always be alright.
You'll lose relationships, miss opportunities, and face failure, mistakes, and regret.
There will be bad days, months, and years.
When it's your fault, learn from it and move forward.
When it's not, let it go.
All you can control is yourself.
You’ve got this.
