Have a wonderful Friday!
You can make the change.
You can work toward the new you.
You can begin creating your best life.
You might disappoint.
You might be criticized.
You might draw attention.
That's okay.
You're living your life, not anyone else's.
You don't need anybody's permission.
Try the new eating habit.
Start the new training program.
Explore the new career, relationship, or whatever.
What step are you delaying?
That thing that you know is the right move?
The effort you think might help but that you’re afraid to take?
Change is hard.
We don’t like facing uncertainty.
Yet, there’s always uncertainty.
There’s always the chance for failure.
The chance that we’ll make the wrong move.
Might as well make the moves we want to make.
Pick one step.
Keep it simple, small.
Work at it consistently.
See how it works for you.
Rinse and repeat.
One step at a time.
You’ve got this.
Have you ever wondered how much carbohydrate you should eat?
Or what are the best sources of carbohydrate?
Or what a carbohydrate even is?
To get the answers to your carb questions, check out my post all about them at coachroba.com/carbs
Have a lovely Wednesday!
One more pound on the bar.
One more second off the run time.
One more breath of mindfulness.
One more act of kindness.
One more smile, hug, or laugh.
Your best life isn't about where you finish.
It’s about how you live on the way there.
The process behind the progress.
Finding goals that you deem worthy.
Working toward those goals consistently.
Who you become on your way.
The things you do.
The people you meet.
The lives you touch.
You’ll never reach some moment when you say “this is it”.
Never come to some definitive point of success.
Feel as though you’ve “made it”.
So much of our dissatisfaction is because we focus on what we achieve.
This will always leave us feeling like there’s more.
There’s satisfaction in what we achieve.
There’s much more in how we achieve it.
The steps we take, day after day.
Knowing that we’re becoming better.
That we’re putting in the work.
Aiming for more.
That’s the best life.
You are worthy of that life.
You’ve got this.
You'll face illness and injury.
You'll face strained relationships.
You'll face financial, professional, and political difficulty.
Sometimes, you can improve or fix the situation.
Often, it's entirely out of your hands.
When you can't change your situation, change yourself.
How can you shift your perspective?
To look ahead, not behind?
To choose hope over rumination?
To practice gratitude however you can?
Your mindset is, at times, all you can affect.
Frequently overlooked, it can be your most powerful tool.
It may not sound like much.
It’s better than doing nothing.
Better than resigning your quality of life to external factors.
Than letting what’s around you dictate what’s within you.
This isn’t to say your circumstances don’t matter.
Or that you shouldn’t work to improve them.
Only that you may not always have that option.
You always have the option of changing yourself.
The two may go hand-in-hand.
Changing yourself often changes your situation.
If not, it still presents an opportunity.
An opportunity to learn.
An opportunity to grow.
An opportunity to become a more resilient, more capable you.
Moving toward your best life.
You are worthy of that life.
You’ve got this.
In case you didn't know, my Friday newsletter is the bee's knees.

Have a wonderful Friday!
Today is the result of yesterday.
You may wish you'd done things differently.
Started sooner, taken a different path, made different decisions.
The good news is, you've got another opportunity.
Tomorrow will be the result of today.
What tomorrow are you creating with today?
Could you get started with those new eating habits?
Head to the gym and struggle through that first session?
Put off that next episode to go to bed a bit earlier?
This is your chance to put your future self in a better position.
To not look back and wish.
To not look back and regret.
To not look back and long for a do-over.
Every single day is a new chance.
Every single day is another “at bat”.
Every single day you can turn course.
We all have past mistakes.
We all have future dreams.
We all have one thing to bring the two together.
Today.
That’s all you can ever control.
Look ahead to who you want to be.
Take steps in that direction.
From where you are.
Right now.
Set yourself up for success.
Give yourself that gift.
At this moment.
You’ve got this.
We’re often told the importance of eating fruits and vegetables, with little detail as to why they’re beneficial.
To learn how fruits and vegetables might help you feel freaking awesome to a ripe old age, check out my post all about them at coachroba.com/fruits-vegetables/
Have a lovely Wednesday!
You might think forgiveness is for the forgiven.
Relieving them of the burden of wronging you.
The burden they carry is up to them, though.
You're actually relieving your own burden.
Letting go of the emotional baggage you're carrying.
Forgiveness is for you.
We give so much attention to what to eat.
It’s fun to learn about how to train.
We understand the importance of rest and recovery.
These all improve our quality of life.
Yet, what about the rest of what makes life worth living?
What about our mental, emotional, and spiritual health?
What good is physical health without these?
So many of us carry grudges that are keeping us stuck.
Pain, anger, and resentment, keeping us from true health.
Making all the things we need to do to be healthy more challenging.
Even when we do those things, we’re not satisfied.
Life’s too short to carry these negative emotions.
What’s keeping you carrying yours?
Who do you need to forgive?
Whose forgiveness are you seeking?
Why not give yourself that forgiveness?
Why not put that burden down?
Why not let go of that weight?
You can do that right now.
You can take that step today.
If for nobody else, for yourself.
You are worthy of that relief.
You’ve got this.
It's easy to fall into an "all or nothing" mindset.
To go all-in or to totally quit.
To choose between "this" or "that".
Often, only seeing two less-than-ideal options.
Are there other options?
Can you find a middle ground?
Are you actually limited to "all or nothing"?
Do you have to choose between a rigid diet and complete unrestraint?
To choose between training five days a week and sitting on the couch?
Between total abstinence and a couple bottles of wine?
Rarely do we ever face these kinds of decisions.
There’s nearly always another path.
Eating consistently, if not perfectly.
Training at a frequency that fits our schedule and other commitments.
Choosing to indulge without belligerence.
Don’t limit yourself.
Look for that middle ground.
Somewhere between “all“ and “nothing”.
Persistent progress.
Not perfection.
Baby steps.
Each one adding up.
Moving you toward your best life.
Steadily and confidently.
This may take patience.
It may take self-compassion.
It may take appreciation for where you are.
You’ll get to where you’re going.
You’ve got this.
