  • How to sell with integrity and alignment with Elyse Archer
Many people have questions about how to sell but don't realize the best salespeople are selling from a place of integrity and alignment with their values. The Reputation Formula - When asking yourself how to sell, think about creating a personal brand and building your reputation first. The Brand Builders Group is a personal brand strategy group that created this formula. Elyse is one of the founding members of the organization. Elyse stated that your personal brand is synonymous with your reputation. The reputation formula is your results multiplied by your reach equals your reputation. What matters more, incredible results or a large following? If you are creating great results but no one knows about you, you don't really have a reputation. The flipside of that is that if you aren't making a positive impact on others or are producing negative results, but have a huge following, you may not have a positive reputation. It is important to grow your reach to share your results and be seen as someone who produces results. This will build your reputation. Your results and reach both matter for building your reputation. You can be Instagram rich and dollar poor. Only two percent of your social media followers will see your content, you must have an email list. How to sell effectively starts with alignment with your values. Selling for women starts with relationship building, loving people, taking care of people. Sales are often thought of as fitting inside of a box that doesn't work for women. The masculine energy of doing, following a process, a + b = c. Feminine energy, on the contrary, is very non-linear. Instead of thinking about selling, think about how you can build a personal brand, draw people in, and magnetize people to you to build deeper relationships. Follow your intuition and reach out to people even if they aren't on your prospect list for the day. As women, we have natural traits that are great for sales. Sales do not have to be done in a masculine way. It is important to know that if something feels off, you don't have to do it that way. Following your inner guidance is how you'll get the best results. The keys to sales are compassion, empathy, setting emotional boundaries, and self-worth. One thing that Elyse recommends is not becoming best friends with someone on a prospect call. As women, that is easy to do. If you sell through conversations, it's important to remember that it is a disservice to get overly friendly with the prospect. We have to learn to toe the line of having compassion and having a fierce intention to help others move forward in favor of their highest good because that is the best thing we can do for them. It's important to take our needs to be liked and approved out of the equation. Elyse does a lot of inner child work with herself and her clients. Compassion and empathy are key in sales, we just have to know how to leverage them. If we don't sell, we are doing a disservice to those who do need our services or the solutions we provide. Your calling is someone else's signal. When you feel that call to put something into the world, it is coming from someone who needs you to solve a problem for them. They need your specific viewpoint on how to solve their problem. We have to remind ourselves to think about the prospective client, not ourselves. When considering how to sell, remember this surprising factor that skyrockets women's income - self-worth. Your income will never exceed your level of self-worth. If you don't think you are worthy of making money because you haven't seen anyone in your family do it, you will hold yourself back. It is important to do the deep inner work around your worthiness to make money. It can be challenging, especially if you've had a lot of conditioning about not being worthy. Your level of worthiness is often what is capping your income level. What would people think of you if you were number one? We are often conditioned not to be too shiny, or too much because then we are a target. Exercises to tap into your self-worth and money. Practice filtering decisions through the lens of someone who has that thing, amount of money, that you make. What would the 7-figure version of you do? Re-condition the neuro pathways in your brain. Practice thoughts of worthiness and goals. And is the goal worthy of you? It is a thought paradigm that has to shift. "You trade your life for your goals." - Bob Proctor Think of it as needing to set higher goals because you want to matter and make a difference, a big impact on the world. If you are doing all of the work, and https://therobyngraham.com/how-to-sell/tasks, in your business, you are worthy of accomplishments and money. Read the full show notes and access all links.

  • What is EFT tapping and how does it work for anxiety? with Dr. Katie Nall
What is EFT tapping? We don't know exactly how tapping works. The Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) was developed by an electrical engineer named Gary Craig. The meridians or EFT tapping points are: Top of the head Above the nose at the edge of the eyebrow Between the eye and the hairline - to the side of the face Under the eye Beneath the nose Under the lips On the collar bone 4 inches under your arm If you tap each of these you hit 98% of your meridians. Dr. Katie's Waffles that EFT tapping helps alleviate or eliminate Worry Anxiety Fear Frustration Lethargy Exhaustion Stress Her upcoming book will have stories about her clients who have had the waffles and how EFT tapping helped them. Robyn asked if there are specific places to tap for each struggle people have? Dr. Katie said that it isn't so much where the waffle is, but where the waffle is stored. When you are struggling with a waffle you can ask where it manifests in the body. For example, a tension headache, stomach ache, racing heart, or pain. • Why your content isn't converting and how to change it with Brittney Gardner
Content creation becomes frustrating when you don't see results. So how can you create content with ease? Where to Begin? Content creation that has value and converts. Often entrepreneurs create content that doesn't convert. You've been told to create content that provides value. The risk of creating valuable free content is that people will not realize that there is more to what you offer. When people think that they have all the information from you but it doesn't work for them, they start to think you don't know what you are talking about. Instead, give your audience content that will make them think differently about their problem. That will help them realize it isn't that this doesn't work, but that I don't know everything about it and now I can reach out to learn more and the next step. It isn't that you are putting all of your best information under lock and key, you are communicating that you want to help them but I can only do so much under this free format. Choose a content cornerstone The cornerstone of your content will become the basis of all content you create. Be sure this is something you truly enjoy creating to prevent burnout. Britney's 3 cornerstones of content creation The written word - Blog Audio - Podcast Video - FB Live or YouTube From these three forms of content, you have options for repurposing. Britney recommends choosing one platform to use to share content and get really good at it. Once you learn the platform, you can refine the content. Cornerstone content should be created weekly. • How to Obliterate Shame and Live Outside the Box of Cultural Norms as an Entrepreneur
The Need to Obliterate Shame -Body Image, Sex, Shame, Love, and Faith It isn't easy to obliterate shame when it is deep-rooted and generational. But there are steps you can take to remove the triggers, step into your faith and God-led calling, and become a vessel for God. Obliterate Shame Around Body Image Robyn originally met Tamra in a Clubhouse room and was impressed with Tamra's ability to freely talk about her faith. Robyn then saw a post that Tamra put on Instagram about body image and it really resonated with her. The body image piece is cultivated by a sexism culture. What is the body for versus what is the body a vessel for? For years Tamra saw herself as nothing but a tool for the opposite sex. She felt that everything she did had to be for the pleasure of someone else. Or, that she had to fit a certain frame in order to be loved. Tamra mentioned how at a time when the cerebral cortex is still developing, teens are exposed to magazines with beautiful, sexual images. We have to consistently blind the eyes of our children from society and the exposure of women's bodies in a sexual way. Moving Outside the Box of Cultural Norms to Obliterate Shame Tamra is on a mission to obliterate shame and one way she is helping women do that is through sharing fitness and nutrition. Everyone goes to body conscientious first. Its mind, body, soul, spirit, and mental health is often pushed aside. The body tends to come up first. Tamra shifted this thinking when she realized that her spirit and soul precede her body when she enters a room. Once she changed her way of thinking, her body became a vessel to steward the Holy Spirit rather than a tool for others' pleasure. When we are trying to fit into a box of cultural norms, we use suppression and coping mechanisms to control what we can't control. Tamra used alcohol, shopping, and other addictions as coping mechanisms. It's important to look at those coping mechanisms that are preventing us from being what God has called us to be. Freedom only comes when you face what has kept you in a box for so long. Tamra stressed that from the outside looking in life can look amazing and no one sees the internal distractions and problems. No one offers help when they don't see that help is needed. The expectations of perfectionism are overwhelming. The roots of our generations often go deep and influence body image and overall mental health. Click here to read the full blog post and access links. • Living with Purpose
Living with Purpose Means Your Goals are Unique to You Often times we look around and think, "oh, I should do what this woman is doing" or "I need to do these things too". We end up setting our goals based on everyone else's metrics of success instead of defining what success looks like to us and leaning into our own unique gifts and talents and letting those be the guide. We find joy and satisfaction when we are aligned with our goals. Going from A to Z. The B to Y is so important. The endpoint can seem so daunting so we need to look at what's in between, the B to Y, to reach the goals. Where we are today, and where we want to go, there is a huge chasm. If we put one foot in front of the other every day, we'll get there so much faster than trying to rush through without being aligned. The Purpose Equation - For Finding and Living with Purpose Robyn shared her purpose equation, Values + Visions + Passions = Purpose. We must be aligned with our values or we will become frustrated. This ties in with Tayna's North Star concept that she shared in "The Joy of Missing Out", your values, visions, and mission are your guiding light and principal. This helps determine your soulmate clients. This is also important with how you run your team and set your boundaries. How to Discover Your Passions If you are feeling lost in the day-to-day of motherhood and are struggling to identify your passions, travel back in time. Do reflection work and discover what your passions were before you began the journey of motherhood and expectations. Dive into who you were when you were a kid. What were the activities you looked forward to? Tayna gave the example of playing softball. Maybe you won't play softball as an adult, but what did you like about softball. Was it being outdoors, the team environment, the athleticism, moving your body? Ask yourself why and you'll start to see bread crumbs for things you are passionate about. Another exercise to discover your passions is diving into what you wanted to be when you grew up. Remember when there were no constraints on you. Why did you want to be that? What was it about being that that made you excited? PIE We are all multi-passionate. Every person on the planet has more than one thing they love. It's important to narrow down first, niche down first, then add on and expand. You can't be Amazon straight out of the gate. When we do this, we wear ourselves out. Choose to focus. The cost of greatness is commitment. Commit to doing fewer things so that we can really do them well and then expand. Powers What are your powers? Impact What impact does it make? Excitement What is your excitement level? Being good at something doesn't mean you should be doing it. About Tayna Dalton Tayna is the author of "The Joy of Missing Out" and "On Purpose". She is a productivity expert, author, and speaker. Click here to read the full show notes and access links.

  • Living Your Faith as an Impactful Christian Entrepreneur - Money and Discernment in a Secularized World
As a Christian entrepreneur, is it right to want to make money? In this collaborative interview with Judy Weber and I, we discuss money, discernment, ambition, and much more. Is Money the Root of All Evil? As a Christian entrepreneur, you may have been taught that money is the root of all evil. But, is that what scripture says? In actuality, it isn't money that is evil. It's the love of money that is the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 6:10 tells us that the love of money is the root of all evil. Many of us were raised with phrases such as "money doesn't grow on trees" "money is the root of all evil" "rich people are bad" and many others. As a result, many of, especially Christian entrepreneurs struggle with making money. Judy gave the example of the Proverbs 31 woman. Robyn added that the Proverbs 31 woman was indeed an entrepreneur and how she came from a place of love, obedience, service. If we can take that approach to make money in our businesses, come from a place of obedience and service first, we can make money in our businesses while serving as Christ called us to serve. We often lose sight of our calling. If we have something in our hearts, that is the Holy Spirit nudging us. At the same time, someone else in the world has a need that the Holy Spirit is guiding them to seek help for. Judy emphasized that we often say I can't, I shouldn't. These lead with I. We think we are being unGodly by saying these things, but if we are not serving who we are meant to serve, we aren't following God's calling, we are being disobedient. The key is to dream big and trust God to guide us. Click here to read the full blog post and access links. • Change is Coming, The Second Phase Podcast is Getting a New Name in 2022
Change is exciting, nerve-wracking, and quite often the best thing for us personally and as entrepreneurs. There is one thing that is always consistent in life. Change. Change is ineveitable. It happens whether we want it to or not. Change is good I've found over the years that most change is good. Even if it doesn't seem exciting or positive in the beginning, when first faced with it, it usually turns out okay, and to our benefit. God has a funny way of doing this for us. Creating necessary change and probably smiling while we are stewing with anxiety over it until we realize that He knew what He was doing all along. In episode 143 I announced that I was making a change in my business. That announcement was my retirement from photography. Click here to read the full blog post. Today I am announcing another big change. I am changing the name of The Second Phase Podcast to The Robyn Graham Show. Why? Not because I am giving up on the concept of the second phase, but because as I move into more and more coaching and publishing my book, "You, Me, and Anxiety" in March, I want to have more leeway in the content I am sharing. And, I want everything in my brand to be aligned. As you know, my social media handles are all the Robyn Graham and my website URL is the Robyn Graham. Changing the name of the show not only helps me with brand alignment but also helps people searching for the show. When I started the podcast, if I am honest, I started it without putting a lot of thought into it. Yes, I had planned for it, created the intro and outro and the show description, chose a name, but I didn't think about the name long-term. I thought I would have a show that featured people who moved from phase one of their careers to phase two and were making an impact as I had done. I wanted to tell stories that inspired others. If you have been following the show for any length of time, you have probably observed the transition from inspiring stories to inspiring stories with more tips and strategies for entrepreneurship. The end-of-the-year exercise is one you'll want to do to start 2022 off on a positive note.

  • Stop Sabotaging Your Life and Business and Adopt an Abundance Mindset
You have a choice to embrace an abundance mindset or sit in a place of scarcity and potentially sabotage your life and business. The Law of Sufficiency and Abundance Mindset If you look at the from the human perspective, everything is a spectrum. There is always a polar opposite and a spectrum of in-between. On one side of our perspective as humans is the perspective of lack. Lack is also referred to as scarcity, insufficiency. What comes out of that is drama, chaos, suffering. And what comes out of that is the emotions of worry, fear, doubt. On the other side is abundance. Oneness, togetherness, and wellbeing. Love, freedom, and connection. All of the feelings that feel good. You can identify your perspective based on being by the emotions you are feeling. If you are feeling anger or feeling worried, or doubt, you are in the perspective of lack. Energy creates momentum, so you will continue to feel that way because of that undercurrent of negative energy. Then we get worried or afraid. The only way to move into joy is to change your thoughts to abundance. As children of God, we are all loved equally. What changes, is our perspective? If we are saying I'm not good enough, that is how we are going to feel. Click here to read the full blog post.

  • Embracing Change as an Entrepreneur - Shifting From a Service Business to Product Business and How PR Differs
How to embrace change as an entrepreneur, especially when your dreams are shattered and you change from a service-based business to a product-based business. And, the Difference in PR strategies. About KJ Blattenbaur Learn more about KJ and PR by going back and listening to episode 29. In Episode 29 KJ shared her 5 Ps of media and PR, her book, "How to Be a Media Darling", and her dress brand, Vieve and Jo. The Emotional Chaos Before Embracing Change as an Entrepreneur KJ emphasized the fact that when things don't go our way, when it seems like we have failed, or when are forced to give up on a dream, it isn't pretty. There are many moments of laying on the bathroom floor crying. Embracing Change as an Entrepreneur When Your Dreams Are Shattered When you do something for multiple years, you lose the spark. This is how KJ felt about PR. She wanted to have a product versus continue in a service industry. This led her to follow her dream to design fashionable, comfortable dresses. There were many challenges trying to have the dresses made in the US and when it comes to sustainability, the definition is different for everyone and especially different for China. Then when Covid hit, the logistics became even more challenging and KJ was forced to give up on her dreams. The Differences In PR As a Product Business Versus a Service Business When you are a service provider, you have to go a little more overboard with building the emotional connection, helping people really connect with what you can and will do for them, and how you will make their lives easier. With a product, you have something to show them. You also have the ability to work with influencers and give people the products to try to get more reviews. KJ emphasized that as a product business, you have to have your operations in order. She used the bike baskets from Nantucket as an example. Before promoting something, you have to be smart. You have to have your strategy in place for the products and be able to back the product up whether there is a supply chain issue or not. You also have to align your strategy and timing for launching and PR. There are different times of the year when certain types of products launch so you have to be prepared with a PR strategy at the right time. If promoting for Christmas, you need to start promoting in June or July. The coupon code for Pretty Pep Talks is SPP15. Click here to read the full blog post and access additional links.

  • Gratitude and Entrepreneurship - Does it Make a Difference?
A Day in the Life of Entrepreneurship Gratitude and entrepreneurship are related when it comes to mindset. When we talk about gratitude, it goes beyond a positive mindset, it is much deeper. A day in the life of an entrepreneur can go in many different directions. Some are positive, some negative, and some debilitatingly overwhelming. I'm talking, head on the desk while tears float to the floor kind of overwhelming. There is content creation, process mapping, strategy implementation, client calls, coaching sessions, emails, even calendar mishaps, you know the ones where somehow something wasn't logged on the digital calendar and two people are now scheduled at the same time but you only have the ability to be in one place at a time. And so many other things can happen like the sales call that you think you nailed but you don't get the client. You were banking on that money too. But it slipped right through the Zoom screen. In all of that chaos, how can you be grateful? The Positive Effects of Gratitude Research has found that gratitude has positive effects on the neurologic system. An article in the Positive Psychology Journal explains the definitions and benefits of gratitude. In addition, Dr. Robert Emmons has studied gratitude in-depth and found that it has positive physical and mental health effects. Some of the positive physical effects of gratitude include positive interactions in the frontal lobe of the brain, the part that makes decisions. It has also been found to have positive effects on metabolism and hormone regulation. The positive effects on mental health even include times of crisis.
