“How God Speaks: His Word”

When does the Word of God speak to you? When you read it! The Word of God is living and active, no other written word or book is alive. But in order to hear God speak through His Word, we must be reading it. The Word of God was written by God for us to use to hear from Him and confirm the Holy Spirit. The Word of God and the Holy Spirit work together. Too often, man pollutes the Word of God. This happened in the Old Testament and still happens today.

Spend a few minutes today watching Pastor Wes Morris from The Rock Church of Fenton open the Bible and look at how God speaks using His Word.

In this message we will cover the following verses:

2 PETER 1:20-21
2 TIMOTHY 4:1-2
JEREMIAH 23:11-29
HEBREWS 4:12

HOW GOD SPEAKS: THE HOLY SPIRIT

How does God talk to you? Can you hear Him? Over the next 3 weeks we will take a look at how God speaks to us.

One of the ways God speaks to us is through the Holy Spirit. Sometimes the Holy Spirit convicts a sinner to repent, but often we resist the conviction of the Holy Spirit. God speaks to the believer in Christ by the Holy Spirit teaching us and giving us wisdom. The Holy Spirit is our helper in time of need, bringing the Word of God to our remembrance and leading our life.

Pastor Wes Morris from The Rock Church of Fenton opens God’s Word to see how God uses the Holy Spirit to speak to us. In this message, we will cover the following verses from the Bible:

JOHN 16:8-11
ACTS 24:25
JOHN 14:26
MARK 13:10-11
ACTS 4:7-8
GALATIANS 5:16-18

What’s Your Donkey? What are the things you keep from the Lord?

How much does the Lord have of your life? Does He have full access to everything? If the Lord comes and takes something from you, are you willing to let it go for Him to use?

As believers in Christ, we should be willing to let anything go if the Lord needs it. The world tells us we need to keep our stuff, our story and even our life for only us. The Lord has a right to all of it to be used for His purpose.

Pastor Wes Morris opens the Bible and shows examples of how we can let the Lord use us.

Open your bibles to the following verses:
MARK 11:1-6
MARK 5:19-20
MARK 10:20-22
1 CORINTHIANS 7:8, 32-35
TITUS 2:2-8

Today my hope is to let God’s word show you how distorted messages and distorted messengers can lead you to believe in a lie, and how we can know the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The Bible clearly teaches us that it is God’s grace that enables salvation. While we are certainly saved by grace we are also called to continually walk in His grace which is tougher than we may realize. How do we continue in grace?

Circumstantial Faith

Daniel 3:8-18
Matthew 13:20-21
1 Peter 4:12-15

Do you still believe God is good when things don’t go according to your plans?

How is your faith during trials, tribulation and persecution?

We must have a solid foundation to withstand these times.

Christians like to point out everyone’s faults, but are we praying what Elijah prayed? Are we asking the Lord to use us in someone’s life? Or is it easier just to complain and point fingers? Are people surprised to hear you’re a Christian?

In 1st Kings, Elijah prayed a bold prayer asking the Lord to use him as His servant. He said “Let it be known, Lord, that you are Lord and I am your servant.” It’s time for you to step up and let the world know that you are a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s time to pray the prayer Elijah prayed and see the Lord move in your life. It’s time to live every day by His Word. Every day we must wake up and be ready to serve the Lord.

Is your life on the altar for the Lord?

In this message, Pastor Wes Morris takes some time to look at Elijah, his stand for the Lord and the answer to his prayer for fire to come down.
