First off, the playlist for this show isn't a response to the Variety article about DJ Kat Corbett leaving KROQ and the claim that "there’s very little new rock" being featured on alternative rock stations anymore, although it very well could be.
From my perspective the playlist is just another example of what we do, of what lots of hosts at Radio Free Brooklyn do, on a weekly basis - we feature really good music that's being created by independent artists from Brooklyn and beyond, music that we believe deserves to be heard by a wider audience.
