The weather these last few weeks has people in the Bay Area shaking their heads, what with every variety of conditions hitting us. So we talked with ABC 7 Weather Anchor Spencer Christian to explain it. On this Valentines Day, Ronn welcomed Dr. Tara Fields who is a psychotherapist and relationship expert. Tara feels it shouldn't just be a day for giving gifts but can also be a day of repairing or re=enforcing the status of your situation. Politics ruled the day as Ronn was joined by KGO Political Analyst Gary Dietrich. They talked about two major items. First up was the 2020 Presidential race, where it seems more Democrats than the population of Montana seem to be running. Gary says Joe Biden is definitely the front runner for the Dems. Ronn also focused on the timing of an official "I'm running" speech and whether it's helpful or hurtful to announce in the first wave. Second was Governor Newsom"s State of the State speech yesterday. Ronn talked with Geoffrey Skelley who is with the popular political  polling website 538.com. The discussion centered on taxes and public reaction to the very different plans by Elizabeth Warren (a 2% tax on household whose net worth exceeds $50 million and an additional 1%  on those worth more than $1 billion) and Alexandria Octasio-Cortez (tax income  that exceeds $10 million a year at a rate if 70%.) Throughout the weekend, everyone seemed to weigh in on an issue that if taken seriously, concerns the First Amendment of the US Constitution or if taken lightly, more as cool fight that fascinates us. It's the heavyweight battle between Jeff Bezos owner of Amazon and the Washington Post versus the highly circulated National Enquirer. We were joined by ABC Legal Analyst Royal Oakes, who discussed whether the emails from the Enquirer to Bezos constituted blackmail or if they were a normal part of doing business, whether the New York Penal Code Section 135.60 (dealing with Coercion in the second degree,) would be applicable, and who provided the emails to the tabloid in the first place. With all the heavy politics this week, Ronn lightened it up this Friday, welcoming Jay Pharoah to the Report.  Jay is best known as a cast  member on Saturday Night Live from 2010 to 2016, where his spot-on impression of President Barack Obama garnered raves from both sides of the aisle. o disprove those who believe politics can't be fun, Ronn chatted with Phllip Klein, Executive Editor of the Washington Examiner about the problems Virginians have in figuring out who will be Governor of their state. See, the current Governor, a Republican, turned up in his medical college's yearbook either in blackface or wearing a KKK costume. He had a press conference Friday and acknowledged one of the two men was him. But then a day later, at another press conference, he said wait,  no, it's not me. Democrats in the Commonwealth were near unanimous in urging him to resign. Easy for them, since the Lt. Governor was also a D. But turns out he was accused  of sexual misconduct by a credible woman. Next in line is the Attorney General. But he said he too wore blackface in the '80s. Finally we get to the next person, the Republican Speaker of the Assembly, who won the position by a coin flip. Ronn was joined by Mark Curtis, political analyst for patch.com as they discussed last night's State of the Union speech by President Trump. Mark said it was the best he's ever given while Ronn saw more of a mix of conciliation and cooperation with hard line stands he will not budge on. Part two of our look at the Super Bowl ads with Chuck McBride, founder and Chief Creative Officer of Cutwater Advertising featured the other side: the spots we weren't that fond of. Leading Chuck's list was the Burger King commercial featuring the late Andy Warhol. (This spot aired 37 years ago). Chuck found it uninteresting, especially since many of the viewers probably didn't know who Andy was. Ronn invited Chuck McBride, founder and Chief Creative Officer of Cutwater Advertising to the station to talk about yesterday's Super Bowl commercials and discuss some of our favorites.  (This was part one; tomorrow, he'll join us as we'll talk about the ones we didn't like.) Given his title, Chuck focuses more on creativity than saleability. He was particularly fond of the Bud Light ad which turned into a "Game of Thrones" parody.
