The Roundtable with Robert Bannon

When martial arts legend and acclaimed actor Mark Dacascos—known to audiences from John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Iron Chef America, Hawaii Five-0, and more than 50 feature films—steps into the world of Shakespeare, it's an event worth celebrating. Alongside Erin Roth, founder and Artistic Director of the Ensemble Shakespeare Company, Mark joins The Roundtable with Robert Bannon to discuss their exciting new production of Julius Caesar, playing July 9–26 at The Flea Theater in New York City.

This contemporary staging reimagines Shakespeare's political masterpiece through a modern lens, exploring ambition, power, democracy, and the consequences of division with striking immediacy. Mark shares what drew him from blockbuster films and television into one of Shakespeare's most iconic roles, while Erin discusses Ensemble Shakespeare Company's mission to make classical theater bold, accessible, and deeply relevant for today's audiences. Together, they explore why Julius Caesar continues to resonate centuries after it was written—and why this production promises to be one audiences won't soon forget.
