Set in 1950, the beautiful land i seek (la linda tierra que busco yo) follows two determined Puerto Rican revolutionaries on a train from New York to Washington,D.C. as they discuss their plan to strike in the name of Puerto Rican independence. However, the lock to their compartment is broken, and each time the door swings open, they are interrupted by figures from art and history—visions that reflect what their homeland means to them and its complex relationship with the United States. As the borders of their reality blur and the train continues its journey, the two must finalize their course of action and decide how they want their sacrifice to be remembered.
The performance schedule for the beautiful land i seek (la linda tierra que busco yo) is as follows: Wednesday—Saturday at 8pm; Saturday and Sunday at 3pm.
Tickets for the beautiful land i seek (la linda tierra que busco yo) begin at $25 and are available at pregonesprtt.org.

The US premiere of 300 Paintings, created and performed by Sydney-based comedian and visual artist Sam Kissajukian was an EPIC Success for Sam and the Vineyard!. This captivating production is a deeply personal and wildly creative exploration of Sam’s five-month-long manic bipolar episode, during which he created 300 large-scale paintings, unknowingly documenting his mental state. 300 Paintings is a hilarious, heart-wrenching, and visually stunning retelling of the intersection between mental health and art, exploring how one can sometimes save the other.
Fresh off a sold-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it won the prestigious Lustrum Award for Outstanding Show, this highly anticipated production played a limited engagement at Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15th Street) from November 12 through December 15, 2024.
How did it go? What was it? What is next for this show? We find out here on the Roundtable! Shoutout to the Vineyard for another amazing year of programming and fun!

Author Ron Fassler has done it all. He is an actor. He is an artist. He is a writer! His new book is a fascinating read for all Broadway Fans!
Conducting more than a hundred interviews, Ron Fassler (Up in the Cheap Seats) has drawn from a wide range of the New York theatre community with dozens of stories that border on the heroic among Broadway replacements. What goes into an actor making a role their own in the shadow of another’s highly lauded performance? What happens when someone hops on the moving train that is a multi-million dollar production and replaces a flailing actor during an out of town tryout? How do understudies and swings miraculously go on sometimes without a single rehearsal? Answers to these and other questions are provided by way of touching and humorous anecdotes gathered together for the first time in one book.
Hear how this came to be and how you can get your own special copy!

MUSCAT written and directed by Philippe Grenier is a film about incommunicability, resilience, taboos and sexual awakening. The meeting between Samir and Louis is decisive: like a storm in his heart and body, he experiences strong feelings that are impossible to ignore. His attraction to Louis will push Samir to reveal a truth that has been deeply repressed until now. This deeply touching short film has qualified to be considered for the 97th Academy® Awards.
Samir, a 16-year-old fisherman, discovers his attraction towards men when he meets Louis, a tourist traveling Morocco with his wife. When Louis faces the worst, Samir is the only one who can help him.
Philippe Grenier is a multidisciplinary creator, director of Premier Trio’s tv series broadcasted on Radio-Canada - for which he won the Gémeaux Award for Best Directing and Best Youth Program in 2024. He directed his first short film in 2013 THE ENDLESS DAYS.
MUSCAT was inspired by a story told to Grenier by his grandmother, with the ending of the film mirroring the heartbreaking travel experience of her distant cousin. The director found it necessary to tell the story through the fictional character of Samir, a young homosexual boy coming to terms with his sexuality in a country where gay individuals are still harshly persecuted. Grenier recognises his privilege, living in a country where he is free to love whoever he wants and feels it is his goal to bring more divisive stories to the screen and to defend the rights of the LGTBQIA+ community.
MUSCAT recently won First Prize for the Breaking Boundaries Award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival, for films that celebrate the endurance of the human spirit and resilience in the face of injustice, whilst also taking home the award for Best Narrative Short at Provincetown International Film Festival.
This incredible film features phenomenally authentic performances by Ilyes Tarmasti, Mahmoud Zabennej and Alexandre Bergeron.
The immersive cinematography was carefully captured by Derek Branscombe. This incredibly emotional and poignant film has qualified to be considered for the 2025 Oscars®.

Janine Harouni who is a standup from New York who lives in London (and is a sold out comic around the world) bringing her sold out, critically acclaimed show to the New York stage for the first time, at Soho Playhouse in December for 3 weeks ONLY!
She has a crazy interesting story as well. From Staten Island, was a dancer and got into a major car accident and was told she might not be able to walk again. Had to relearn everything and live ant home with her conservative, Republican family and eventually she was back on her feet both literally and figuratively and ended up moving to london and becoming a stand up. Bringing her real life stories into her comedy about her middle eastern family in Staten Island, her British boyfriends and now husband and baby, life… the show is sweet, timely and hilarious.
We had a great chat about pregnancy, comedy, and so much more! Take a listen!
