  • Matthew Murphy: Going within yourself to become a great songwriter
I’m delighted to welcome Matthew Murphy as my podcast guest today. If you aren’t familiar with his name, I’m sure you’ll be familiar with his band, ‘The Wombats’ for whom Matthew is the lead vocalist, guitarist and songwriter. His musical talent was discovered at a young age when he started playing the guitar at age 5 and his teen years saw his world become more and more shaped by music as he joined his first band at the age of 13 and went on to study music at the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts where he met his Wombat bandmates. His path to fame with the band wasn’t an easy one as during his teens he also started suffering with anxiety and depression. Despite this he has gone on to become a huge success with his band and more recently also as a solo artist.
Matthew talks to Sandro about his journey to fame and the highs and the lows that come with being a part of the music industry.

  • Christopher Head: Working hard, responding and flying the flag
Christopher Head’s passion for the marine world started with an apprenticeship as a Marine Engineer at the age of 16. He then went on to work in Marine Sales which led to him setting up ‘Sunseeker’, the largest UK-based luxury yacht makers and one of the most successful dealerships in British boats. His boats have even featured in 4 James Bond films!
Chris’ sales ethic is that of delivering perfection and exactly what he promises. This attitude has led to the huge success of his empire of Sunseeker boat dealerships across Europe. He is also often seen ditching his boats for a bike and taking to the road to show his support at various charity events.

  • Anita Brightley-Hodges: Doing it the entrepreneurial way; when everyone goes left, I go right
I’m joined today by Anita Brightley-Hodges – a fantastic role-model for women in business and a shining example of compassion through the fundraising that she has done for numerous charities.
Anita runs her own business as a specialist advisor to people that own their own family businesses. All businesses come with challenges, but when they’re family-run, they also come with their additional pressures. As wonderful it is to know you have set up a business that could be passed down from generation to generation, you also have overcome the hurdles of working with family, dealing with succession of the business and family disputes. Anita is the go-to woman to offer strategies to deal with these eventualities. In addition to this she offers wealth and well-being support to clients that are dealing with life-changing situations in her Associate role at ‘Saphora Private’…and somehow, in the middle of her incredibly busy and successful business life, she’s managed to complete numerous tough treks across the globe to raise hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity.
Anita talks to Sandro about her family business and what makes it work so well and she explains how she is able to help others, not only by using her wealth of experience but because she has personally lived many of the situations she helps people through, such as a marriage breakdown and the time in 2008 when, as she put it, she “lost everything”.

  • Neil Bage: Having a deep passion for helping people make better decisions
Neil Bage is the founder and Director of Behavioural Insight at ‘Be-IQ’ and a Keynote Speaker. After years of working for financial service companies, he decided to go at it alone as he recognised the customer was all too often losing out as a result of a poor relationship between the company and the customer. He is now a specialist in subconscious behaviour. He cleverly combines science and psychology to help people make better decisions to improve their financial health and well-being. When I mention the names HSBC, Barclays and Lloyds, all of which have been attracted by what Neil has to offer, you’ll get a very good idea of his calibre!

  • Bill Coletti: Helping people get through the worst season in their life
It would be great to think that life could go by without crisis striking, but the reality of it is that it can, and it often does. When things go wrong for a company, the after-effects can destroy that company’s reputation and customers may be quick to turn away. My guest today is Bill Coletti, a reputation management and crisis communications expert who founded ‘Kith’, a firm that works closely with businesses to help advise them how to avoid potentially devastating crises but also helps them recover, should they be hit by dark times. A business is nothing without its reputation and Bill’s here today to tell us about how he has built his own successful reputation and how exactly he helps to preserve other’s.
Bill talks to Sandro about how he uses his experience, calm nature and empathy to help people get through the worst thing that is ever going to happen to them in their career. Truth, integrity and trusting our gut-instinct is at the heart of all that he does, and he explains why he believes this should be integral to the way we all conduct ourselves.
