    Barry Hearn is one of the biggest names in sports promotion as founder and Chairman of Matchroom Sports. Beginning his career with the purchase of a snooker club in Romford, Essex and going on to make snooker one of the most watched sports on television.
    In the late 1980’s Barry moved into Boxing and went on to promote numerous top fighters. Barry’s son Eddie now manages the boxing business and the organisation is continually breaking new records with fights featuring the likes of Anthony Joshua and Tony Bellew.
    Known for revolutionising sports, Barry also turned darts from a pub game into a sport, selling out arenas all over the country. He has turned his hand to pool, ten pin bowling, golf, table tennis, poker - and even created the televised fishing tournament Fish O Mania. Barry’s foray into football saw him Chair Leyton Orient Football Club.

    Gary (Robert) Edwards is an internationally renowned dancer and world class judge in Ballroom, Latin, Salsa and Rock and Roll, to name but a few. His towering height has earned him the nickname ‘The Ballroom Giant’.
    Gary started dancing at the young age of 7 and his career as a dancer, coach and adjudicator has spanned over 3 decades and seen him dance professionally in over 60 countries. During this time, he’s worked alongside many A-list celebrities, including Michael Jackson, Barry White - and even the Royal Family of Brunei.
    Gary is joined by his long-time friend and dancer Victoria Regan. Victoria is a US Latin champion, North American 10 dance champion, 5 times Canadian champion and a Broadway star. Victoria, in her own words, has had her life ‘consumed by musical theatre and dance’.
    Both Gary and Victoria are global ambassadors of the Arthur Murray School of Dance.

    Grandson of the legendary Dennis Compton, Nick was perhaps destined for a career as an International Cricketer.
    As an opening batsman, Nick was known for his studied and focused approach to the game, although often unfairly misinterpreted which caused frustration at times. Nick was born in South Africa, but after moving to the UK as a teenager went on to represent England. He played for Middlesex in front of the stand named after his grandfather and experienced his most enjoyable county days in Somerset.

  • Nick Leeson: Being the sum of our experiences
    Nick Leeson is a former derivatives broker who worked at the bank Barings, the oldest merchant bank in London, which, as a result of rogue trader activity and speculative, unauthorised moves he made from 1992, suffered over a billion dollars of loses and folded. This resulted in global notoriety for Nick.
    Nick was sentenced to six and a half years in prison and after being released in 1999, Nick wrote a book in prison called ‘Rogue Trader’ which was turned into a film, he is a regular after dinner speaker, and recently appeared on celebrity Big Brother in which he finished 4th.
    In an honest and open interview, Nick reflects on the drive for success and how there was only one place for him… the top, ultimately leading to the huge losses he brought upon Barings.     Baroness Tanni-Grey Thompson wheelchair racer and one of the most successful disability athletes in the UK. Having competed at 5 Paralympic games between 1988 and 2004, Tanni won 16 Paralympic medals, 11 gold, to go with her 13 world championship medals of which 6 were gold. She also held over 30 world records and won the London marathon six times.
    Since racing, Tanni has been in the public eye as a television presenter, a university chancellor and a politician amongst many other roles. Tanni sits on boards as varied as that of the London Marathon and Transport for London and is patron of numerous charities campaigning for disability benefits which still have a long way to go in her view
