This week in a first for The Say Report we hand the reigns of the hosting duties over to our Quizmaster General, Will Fournier, to celebrate the 35th Anniversary of William Goldman's film based on his novel... "The Princess Bride" 

Is Will equipped to handle the stress and rigor of guiding the conversation?, Will Devon and Sejohn do everything in their power to make this a more arduous journey than it has to be? Anybody want a peanut? The answers to these questions and more await.

Bonus: Once we are done celebrating and bonding over one of our favorite films. we take ten minutes of our time to watch the new trailer for "The Super Mario Bros. Movie" and record our initial reactions, so if Rodents Of Unusual Size, Shrieking Eels, and Revenge aren't your cup of tea, you have that to look forward too... which is nice.

This week’s episode is named after the avatar of all the world’s evil direct from the imagination of Devon and as a result we discuss some of the discreet negativity going on in the world be it the continual carving of fiefdoms in the war of the streaming platforms, the “copaganda” that has become so prevalent in network television, and the moral obligations of modern video game designers. 

Through it all we are still able to identify and celebrate brief glimpses of positivity and as long as we can find the light in such darkness we should be able to persevere. 

In our latest endeavor to revisit, reexamine, and celebrate those films we saw together fifteen years ago in the year 2007 and how they helped make us the men we are today. We have come to a film that we will forever feel is ours on a personal level: “The Brothers Solomon.” 

This time moreso than the others we take a long hard look at what was going on in the world around us, since this was the first film we saw after the boys of summer had gone and we were back following our academic pursuits at college. 

Will we unlock the deepest secrets of the universe or was our reaction to this film simply a product of the time when we were viewing it and a reflection of our own mental states in that moment.

This week’s episode the secret world is ulcer as a Devon who is more chili than man leads a discussion focusing on the current state of video games buoyed by the release of “Return to Monkey Island” and gives a brief history of exploitation in comic books. 

Then, Sejohn takes us to the cinema to discuss the latest motion capture work from Robert Zemeckis with his live-action remake of Disney’s Pinocchio, which spirals into more fun with some of the latest offerings on the Silver Screen. 

This week Devon had a 90 minute hard out in order to act as a transporter, but we still managed to find time to discuss the current methods of video game company subscription models and hyper distribution, the historic release of "Clerks III," Devon’s experience as an overnight security guard at a local art festival, and Sejohn’s latest exploration into the world and culture of YouTube. 

Welcome to the conclusion to our first (and possibly last) trilogy event here at The Say Report. We finally go deeper in sharing our feelings about “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.” Devon goes more in-depth about the eSports study he took place in that inspired this series of episodes, and Sejohn gives more information about the video games he has been playing and drops some hints about the project he is working on in Super Mario Maker 2

Our eyes were a little bit bigger than our stomachs so we were unable to see the calendar and realize that all of those things we wanted to follow-up on won’t actually be completed until next episode, which means we are currently in the strange time between the Before and After. 

On the plus side, you’ll get a bit of relief when we realize that Spider-Man No Way Home’s rerelease actually happened this weekend. Our exploration of Multiverses starts and ends with the news that characters from The Gremlins will soon be introduced. Then finally we take a brief glance at the world of toys and how synergy may be the direct root cause of the lack of iconic characters in current Cinema. 

This episode acts as the Before episode for a multitude of topics: The outcome of the eSports study that Devon is participating in, Sejohn watching the second episode of “She-Hulk: Attorney at Law,” Our inevitable deep dive into “Top Gun: Maverick,” what dreams may come for Disney+ Day 2022, and more.

In this very special episode of The Say Report we put our unabashed love for the 2007 adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "Stardust" on full display. 

Not because it is one of the most important films in a year of cinema that galvanized and enforced the bond between your host-companions... 

Not just because Sejohn absolutely worships and celebrates the works of Neil Gaiman... 

Not simply because for Devon this film represents those same feelings of nostalgia that the "Princess Bride" inspires in his contemporaries...
 
No we lavish our praise on this film because perhaps of all the films released in 2007 and certainly of those films that we are examining against the timeline of our friendship "Stardust" is the most evergreen amongst them.

For what may be the first time in the history of the Say Report we are recording on a Friday evening and that has the lovely side effect of imbuing the episode with all of the optimism and anticipation that comes with the territory. 

This means our topics of the state of streaming as reflected against the continual decay of HBO Max, an exploration of the DC Comics Black Label offerings anchored by Bill Willingham’s “Batman vs. Bigby: A Wolf Iin Gotham,” and a brief check-in with the games we have been playing and what they may reveal about the lifecycle of the Nintendo Switch not only filter through more rants and detours than ever before but are also presented with a warm glow of positivity
