In this supersized episode of The Say Report, Sejohn’s visit to Ohio’s German-American festival leads us down a politically charged discussion about what it means to be an American and how our only true cultural touchstone may in fact be nostalgia for our pasts.

On the subject of nostalgia Devon experienced some deep realizations about why he didn’t particularly care for “Ready Player One,” “Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates,” and “Brooklyn” which inspires a conversation about what makes a film your host-companions truly enjoy.

Sejohn saw Slenderman and that made him want to explore more creepy pasta adaptations leading him to track down and experience Channel Zero: Candle Cove

Devon doesn’t know anything about creepy pasta so this episode makes him feel old and his opinions on Brooklyn 99, How I Met Your Mother, and Last Man Standing certainly aren’t helping to dispute that those feelings.

Devon reveals the truth about why we switched up our recording schedule and that leads to a fine tooth comb examination of National morning news shows.

Sejohn has thoughts about the new category at the Academy Awards and naturally that means your host-companions come up with the perfect method of implementation with the benefit of hindsight.

Finally Devon recounts all the of Decker Adventures that occurred during their weekend trip to Boston and Philadelphia

Sejohn attempts to explain constant clicking games to Devon and that leads them to a discussion about Bongo comics and the fact that The Simpsons comic will finally be coming to an end. Since you can’t have a conversation about the Simpsons with either of your host companions without Futurama being brought up naturally that we shift into that topic.

Then once that horse is beaten we shift in Sejohn talking about the resurrection of THQ and his excitement in regard to the new Darksiders game starring Fury.

We take a long hard look into the cold dead eyes of some the darkest parts of modern culture. Toy Collecting, Comics, Movies, Corporations, Conventions… no seedy underbelly is left unexamined and it is up to our brave host companions to try and maintain their generally cheerful dispositions and not succumb to the awesome might of negativity.
