This episode the Say Reporters kick things off with a discussion of the latest legacyquel “Freakier Friday," the decade spanning franchise its a part of, and the films being marketed alongside it before turning their attention to the latest tv shows to be released on streaming, video games that have captured tge imagination as the market changes, and how the luxury world of collectibles can shed a light on how tariffs may ultimately effect the rest of the economy. 

After our brief vacation The Say Reporters are back trying to answer an existential question related to a world where there but for the grace of a degree in Communications go they. 

After that fun the attention is turned towards all of the things that were engaged in during our time away, in the realms of films, television, and video games. 

The best part if that now that we’re all caught up we can turn our attention towards new topics to research for next week’s episode!

In this experimental Time Capsule episode we try a variation on the “Nothing, Noise, and Nonsense” approach as the Say Reporters each present two topics leading to discussions about cyrptids, comic book adaptations, sitcoms about podcasting, and the current state of the internet. 

New media tackles old media as Devon and Sejohn start off this latest episode with a discussion about the state of broadcast television as an industry fueled by the cancellation of The Late Show by CBS

Then we look at how one film director is fighting the revival of pirate downloads and discuss if this may be the first step towards the movie industry finding solid footing again. 

After those depressing topics based on Devon’s first hand experiences with both titles we provide a brief overview on “Donkey Kong Bananza” and “Shadow Labyrinth” two video games being reimagined by their original companies for modern audiences. 

Finally we take a trip through the Drive-Thru to discuss some of the latest Fast Food offerings we’ve recently taken notice and/or a bite of.

The Say Reporters both took the time to see the new Superman film and in this episode we take the time to share our initial thoughts about it.

Before that fun begins though Devon has a rather somber message to share about the future of the River City Girls and Sejohn is takes the time to educate when the topic of Spider-Man, as represented in the 1967 cartoon theme song, is brought up. 

The Say Report is back with a recorded the same week as release episode and the Say Reporters are chomping at the bit to share what they got up to in the last few weeks of June. 

For Sejohn that meant multiple rewatches of Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners,” a first time voyage with Doug Liman’s “Road House” remake, and some interesting exploration of changes happening in internet entertainment

Meanwhile Devon revisited Jurassic World in the latest reboot/requel to join the Jurassic Park Franchise, tested out the limits of repeat business at locally owned and operated shops, and took some time to correct some mistakes he felt he made in relationship to his Switch 2

At the end of the day this episode is a 3…2…1 countdown to your Say Reporters regaining their bearings after a few weeks off and the audiences gets to enjoy every awkward minute of that.

Before we discuss our reasoning behind our song choices we first spend sometime in the seriousness that is going on in our world on the day that we are recording and how the actions made by our country overnight make us feel. 

Its not all doom and gloom though Sejohn takes the time to share how he recently  interacted with the culture of cinema, Devon talks about how Dayle and he weirdly became the entertainment at their usual Tuesday spot, and they both discuss their latest achievements in the gaming space.

Strap into your submarine, jet, or sentient tank as the Say Reporters take you on a wild ride celebrating the 30th Anniversary of yet another comic book to film adaptation in Rachel Talalay’s “Tank Girl”

Thrill as Lori Petty steps in to the combat boots of Rebecca Buck, sticks it to Malcolm McDowell as the Master of Water and Power Kesslee, and eventually finds love with Booga a Genetically Altered Kangaroo Super Soldier much to the chagrin of Ice-T’s T-Saint. 

You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’lll laugh again, and you’ll cheer as Tank Girl unapologetically drives straight though the hearts and minds of her fans making both Devon and Sejohn long for a time where film’s trusted their audience and weren’t afraid to take big risks.

Steven Spielberg’s origin of the blockbuster film: “Jaws”

This latest episode of the Say Report sees Devon and Sejohn sharing the ways they entertained themselves over the last week with hyper-specific adaptations made to satisfy the demands of the people. 

From there we switch gears to talking about video games, starting with the time Sejohn has spent with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and the difficulty he has had with getting into the experience and ending with Devon sharing some final thoughts on the Nintendo Switch 2 now that he has been able to spend a full week with the Mario Kart Device.

Then Sejohn is allowed to choose his own adventure leading to a discussion about some of the more cultivated experiences that streaming platforms have on offer and the death and return of DVD Commentary tracks and how they can continue to be relevant in the modern landscape of entertainment.
