Psalm 127 teaches us that children are the heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. How do we cherish and nurture these gifts from the Lord correctly? We do so by instructing them in His ways by teaching our children the Word. Scripture memory is a vital way for them to learn. It slows them down to hear it and naturally leads to meditation. Memorizing with children is often easier said than done. In this episode, our hosts will discuss various memorization techniques with them. Tune in to this episode to change your family generationally with God's Word.

If that sounds counter-intuitive, think of it this way: God's Word is so potent that it can impact our lives even when we aren't memorizing Scripture as quickly or as consistently as we'd like. SMF board member Chad Boss has been memorizing Scripture for more than a decade, and "stumbling forward" has been a key part of his long-term success. In this episode, Chad describes his recent experience memorizing Colossians and shares some of the valuable lessons he learned along the way.

Scripture memorization deserves to be a normal part of the Christian life. Yet, all too often, we view Bible memory as the spiritual equivalent of running a marathon. Since most people aren't running this marathon with us, it can be tempting to think we're going the extra mile in our walk with Christ by memorizing Scripture. In this episode, special guest Daniel Louis discusses "quiet consistency" in Scripture memorization. Rather than viewing it as a special achievement, Daniel views it as one of the most basic components of spiritual formation. Join us for this episode as we explore what it means to embrace Scripture memory as a normal and essential part of the Christian life.

Scripture memory has many uses, from evangelism to spiritual warfare, and even comforting our hearts in times of need. But one of its most potent purposes is public recitation. Imagine the impact of reciting memorized portions of the Bible during a worship service or ScriptureFest. It not only edifies God’s people but also challenges them to start their own Scripture memory journey. In this episode, we have a special guest, Aaron House, the Executive Director of Piercing Word Ministries. Piercing Word ignites passion for the Word of God in the heart of the Church, engaging people with live Scripture Performances. Tune in today for another engaging episode of The Scripture Memory Podcast, where Aaron shares his unique insights.

Earnest Christian parents are eager to begin discipling their children. However, we tend to have a romanticized or idealized image of it all. After the evening meal, the family will gather for instruction in the ways of the Lord. The children will sit quietly and soak up biblical teaching like a sponge. The reality proves different. Children are easily distracted and sometimes fight the very instruction they need. What do we do? This episode will discuss working with your youngest memorizers (preschoolers). We’ll answer some of the essential questions for doing this successfully. Tune in for another instructional episode of The Scripture Memory Podcast.
