Guy is a subject matter expert on Extremism and a former recipient of the prestigious “UK Security Manager of the Year Award for Services to Industry"

He directed counter extremist operations for the Research & Pharmaceutical sector, during an unprecedented campaign of public order threat, violence & intimidation, notably as Chair of The UK Pharmaceutical Industry Security Forum, leading on strategies for security, staff protection and pre-employment screening. He worked in a pivotal role to develop and maintain close, effective working relationships with industrial, academic, Police and Government sectors.

He has also lectured on the threat posed by Extremism to industrial, academic and government sectors & International Security, Police & UK Government bodies. 

Guy was a corporate security advisor to GSK, responsible for auditing global manufacturing facilities and writing a treatise entitled “Extremism: Past, Present, Future”

A Fellow of the Security Institute, Guy served a six-year elected stint as Validation Board Chair & Strategy Director. 

In 2017, he was appointed Chair of the Food & Drink Security Association.

In 2018 he was appointed Chair of Eastern Region Cross Sector Safety & Security Cascade (CSSC).

In 2019 he was appointed Chair of The Security Commonwealth until 2021 to then become Immediate Past Chair, continuing to serve on the SyCom Board.

In 2019, Guy was also chosen amongst the top ten thought leaders at the 2019 edition of IFSEC’s Global Influencers.

In 2020, Guy was appointed by the Security Industry Authority (SIA) to its Strategic Forum. The Strategic Forum is a group of senior and experienced stakeholders with significant  private security expertise,which works with the SIA on the development of ideas around public protection. 

He has conducted several risk and security reviews for organisations in the research, academic & pharmaceutical sectors.

Guy is currently the Risk & Operations Director at Suntory.

Julian has 35 years international experience up to and including Director level and C-Suite in the commercial, government, and not-for-profit sectors internationally.
 
Julian’s operational experience includes seven years with an operational unit of the Australian firefighter. Strategic leadership roles include 30 years’ experience as a company director of commercial corporations including the ASX listed Citadel Group Limited, as well as 20 years’ experience as a Director of not-for-profit organizations such as the Risk Management Institution of Australasia (RMIA), Australasian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers (AIPIO), the Washington DC based Security and Risk Management Association (SARMA).

Julian is internationally recognized for his business continuity and risk management expertise. His experience includes roles in Africa, Australia, Asia, Europe, and North America. He was awarded the Australian Security Medal for Conspicuous Service for his service to the security profession in Australia. Julian is one of only five people accredited by the Security Professionals

No other woman has had so many online romances – from Keanu Reeves to Brad Pitt to Prince William and she is a firm favourite with brave US peacekeeping soldiers and oil rig workers who desperately need iTunes vouchers or Amazon gift cards. Michael Gips, CPP, CSyP, is a security professional, attorney, writer, researcher, volunteer leader, expert witness, and principal of Global Insights in Professional Security.

The former Chief Global Knowledge and Learning Officer for ASIS International, Mike founded the CSO Roundtable (now CSO Center) and served as editor and publisher of Security Management. Mike was named the most influential person in global security thought leadership by IFSEC for 2022, Outstanding U.S. Security Consultant (OSPAs) that same year, and one of Security magazine’s most influential people in 2019. He has won more than a dozen awards for his published security articles.

Lived experience and the true understanding of what happens to the bullied brain, by Dr Jennifer Fraser author of 'The Bullied Brain' and Jonathan Wilson former senior lead at the Metropolitan Police, bullied out of his career.

Jennifer Fraser is an author, award-winning educator, and consultant. She has a PhD in Comparative Literature and her books have always focused on how we have the capacity to transform ourselves. We can go from being readers to writers of culture. We can reject society's demands that we suppress our emotions and instead come alive with them. We can question the bullying dynamic we've been raised in and ask wouldn't empathy and compassion be healthier? Jonathan has over 28 years’ experience working for the Metropolitan Police (United Kingdom) with much of that time in senior leadership roles.  
Jonathan’s police leadership required him to work with diverse communities, businesses, local authorities, across a number of government departments including the Home Office and Mayor of London’s office and internationally. 
He has considerable experience in prevention strategies, legislative changes, working with vulnerable groups, and partnership work.
Jonathan retired from the Police Service in 2020 after a traumatic experience of workplace bullying,  a period of his life that impacted on him considerably. He now dedicates much of his time to education and challenging workplace bullying behaviors which he says is entirely preventable and creating positive workplace culture.
Jonathan now talks widely across social media and to businesses in person about psychosocial safety at work.
He says, “Psychosocial safety is a leadership issue, and how you interact with people impacts their whole lives. It is therefore the most pressing issue of the contemporary workplace to master. Teaching your leaders interpersonal communications skills that empower not diminish. At the heart of bullying is always complex human dynamics and often unethical behaviours, corruption, discrimination, and harassment will emerge as the reason. Look deeper.”

Biography

Dr Paul Martin is a security practitioner with thirty years’ experience in the national security arena. During a career in UK government service from 1986 to 2013 he held a variety of positions, including heading the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI) and leading national security preparations for the London 2012 Olympics. From 2013 to 2016, he was the Director of Security for the UK Parliament.

He is a Distinguished Fellow of RUSI, Professor of Practice at Coventry University, Honorary Principal Research Fellow at Imperial College London, a member of the Police Science Council, and a member of the Boards of the Charity Commission and the National Leadership Centre. He is an adviser to various public and private sector bodies, with a particular interest in insider risk.

Paul was educated at the University of Cambridge and Stanford University. He lectured and researched in behavioural science at Cambridge and was a Fellow of Wolfson College before leaving academia to join government service. He is the author or co-author of several books including: Measuring Behaviour; The Sickening Mind; Design for a Life; Counting Sheep; Play, Playfulness, Creativity and Innovation; Extreme; and The Rules of Security.

Ben's military career saw him in various interesting endeavours from two tours of Afghanistan to training exercises in central Europe. This experience created a firm foundation of values, mindset, processes and the will to continue in the face of adversity. He worked with some truly amazing people during this time and attributes many of his successful traits to this period.

Ben has a passion for, and can see a need to, provide quality IT services for the current business landscape that are customer service centric and absolutely provide an organisation with a stable platform from which to thrive and do what they do best. Angela Harris, a distinguished figure in British politics, left an indelible mark on the landscape of public service over several decades. She embarked on her political journey as a member of North Yorkshire County Council, a tenure that spanned from 1981 to 2001. Notably, Angela made history in 1991/92 by becoming the first woman to chair the council, a testament to her trailblazing spirit.

Her commitment to public safety and governance extended to her role as the chair of the North Yorkshire Police Authority from 1994 to 2001. Prior to this, she served as the joint chair (balanced council) and deputy chair of the Association of Police Authorities between 1997 and 2001. Angela's influence also reached national levels, as she contributed her expertise as a former member of the Service Authority National Crime Squad and Police Negotiating Board.

Beyond her contributions to law and order, Angela devoted 16 years of service (1982–1998) as a justice of the peace, showcasing her dedication to judicial matters. Simultaneously, she served as a non-executive Director of an NHS Trust from 1990 to 1997, highlighting her diverse engagement in public institutions.

Recognizing her civic contributions, Angela was appointed a Deputy Lieutenant of North Yorkshire in 1994, a position she held until 2019. Additionally, she became a member of the Court of the University of York in 1996 and received an honorary doctorate from the University of Bradford in 2020.

Angela's involvement with the Liberal Democrats is a testament to her commitment to political representation. She served as a former Party Chief Steward at Federal Conferences and contested the 1999 European Parliament Elections as a party candidate.

Elevating her political career, Angela Harris was granted a Liberal Democrat Life Peerage on August 6, 1999, assuming the title Baroness Harris of Richmond, of Richmond in the County of North Yorkshire. Since entering the House of Lords, she has chaired the European Union Select sub-Committee F and contributed as a member of various committees, including the European Union Select Committee, Offices Committee, and Refreshment Sub-Committee. Notably, Angela held the position of Deputy Speaker from 2008 to 2018 and has served as a Liberal Democrat Whip from 2000 to 2008 and, again, from 2018 to the present. Her extensive experience is evident in her roles as party spokesperson on Northern Ireland and a member of the Home Affairs Team for policing matters. Angela is also actively engaged in the Ecclesiastical Committee and the Procedures and Privileges Committee in the House of Lords, embodying a lifelong commitment to public service and governance.
