Kasia Hanson, Global Senior Director | Physical and Cybersecurity Ecosystems at Intel Corporation

Kasia Hanson leads Global Security Ecosystem Development and Partnerships within Intel’s Security Center of Excellence. She is responsible for shaping the strategy, orchestration, and go-to-market with ecosystem. She is a passionate and dynamic security leader with over 24 years of experience driving digital transformation across Edge, IoT/OT, AI, Computer Vision, Cybersecurity, and Datacenter and is well-versed in security software and hardware that drives business outcomes from data protection to physical infrastructure protection and convergence.  She actively contributes to industry advancement and diversity and inclusion initiatives. Speaker Bio: Craig Pedersen

 Craig Pedersen is a leading expert in digital forensics, cybercrime, and fraud investigation. As the head of TCG Forensics, he oversees operations in Cape Town and Pretoria, focusing on digital forensics and cybercrime. Craig is a Forensic Practitioner, and Cyber Crime Investigator with extensive experience in the investigation of Ponzi schemes and commercial crime. He is a registered Certified Fraud Examiner, Forensic Practitioner (ICFP), member of the IAFCI, South African Academy of Forensic Sciences and Fellow of the Internet Service Providers Association (SA).

Why are children not safe online?
What is Cybertrauma?

Any trauma that is a result of self or, other-directed interaction with, mediated through, or from any electronic internet/cyberspace ready device or machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithm, that results in impact now or future.

This event/interaction can be multi-modal, multi-platform and multi-interval, delayed or immediate, legal or not, singular or plural, and may include images, sound, and or text and may or may not be vitriolic in nature.

Events may include covert and overt typology and may be virtual and corporeal and/or at the same time.

What can we, as teachers, therapists and other professionals, do?

Cybertrauma is trauma that happens when using technology. A lot of it will be connected to the internet in one way or another. Cyber bullying can happen on social media, in games, or even in classroom Zoom sessions.

As the adults in or near the situation, what can we do?

I can help. I am an international educator and author, Online Harms consultant, researcher and clinician, helping professionals protect the child from online harms in the metaverse.

Children are often much more tech savvy than parents and other adults in their lives, and will use games, social media and the internet in general from early on in life. With my help, teachers, therapists and other professionals in child facing roles can get clued up on what to look out for and how to help when cybertrauma does happen. I can also help with safeguarding against these issues in the first place.

I have a background in Engineering from the Army, IT, and Computer Tech of over 25 years and over a decade of working with children and adults directly around issues relating to the internet, from Bullying to Porn viewing, from cybercrime to cybersecurity more.

I write about issues such as the impact of tech on the developing child, the impact of cyber trauma and the issues of immersive technology on eyes, brains, and bodies.

I run a company educating professionals about Child protection around tech and digital spaces and teach therapists how to be 'safe AND secure' when using tech to ensure they protect their clients.

Dr. Stacy Thayer, a seasoned Cyberpsychologist with over two decades of experience, brings a wealth of expertise to the intersection of psychology and cybersecurity. With a Ph.D. in Clinical and Organizational/Business Psychology, Dr. Thayer's research delves into the intricate dynamics of business, cybersecurity, and human behavior.

Dr. Thayer has worked closely with security professionals in technology and education and as part of various security companies, gaining invaluable insights into the challenges and nuances of cybersecurity. Her research portfolio includes extensive exploration of topics such as job satisfaction in the education and technology sectors, creating neurodivergent-friendly work environments, effective leadership, and addressing burnout within the security industry.

As the host of the Cyberpsych podcast and the manager of the Cyberpsych and Human Factors Slack Channel, Dr. Thayer is dedicated to fostering dialogue and knowledge-sharing within the cybersecurity community. Richard S. Mroz

Richard Mroz He has a long and distinguished career in law, government, and public service. He is Founding Member and Managing Director of Resolute Strategies, LLC and Senior Director of Archer Public Affairs in Trenton, NJ and Washington, DC.  He advises clients in the energy, utilities, infrastructure and financial industries.   He is also Senior Adviser to Protect Our Power a national non-industry non-profit advocacy organization supporting best practices and investments in cybersecurity and resilience measures for the energy, utility and critical infrastructure industries.

Mr. Mroz is the immediate past President of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) serving as chairman and chief administrative officer of the agency and functioned as the chief energy officer for New Jersey.  He was President of the NJBPU from October 2014 until January 2018 and remained as a Commissioner until April 2018.   He was Chairman of the Critical Infrastructure Committee for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC).  He led efforts addressing cybersecurity protection, workforce development, and infrastructure improvements in the electric, gas, water and telecommunications industries.  He was also the NARUC liaison to the Electric Sector Coordinating Council (ESCC) and served as President of the Organization of PJM States, Inc (OPSI).  

Mr. Mroz served as Chief Counsel to Governor Christine Todd Whitman after serving in various capacities in her Administration and was involved in many infrastructure development issues and public private partnership issues, and public finance matters.  He has served as a Commissioner of the Delaware River & Bay Authority and began his career in local government as in house solicitor to Camden County, New Jersey.  He was for many years counsel to the New Jersey Conference of Mayors.

During his career, he served in leadership roles in five (5) of those electric utilities in three states (OH, PA and NJ). He retired in 2017, as Vice President of Operations for an electric utility that served 1.1 million electric meters in New Jersey, where he managed an operations workforce of over 1,250 professional and represented employees. He has managed all aspects of operations, including transmission and distribution, substations, dispatch, engineering, asset management, project management, work management, facilities, vegetation management, fleet, stores, metering.

Bennett Arron – Biog

Bennett Arron is an Award-Winning Writer, Comedian, Author and Radio & TV Presenter. He is also one of the first major victims of Identity Theft in the UK.

As a Comedian, Bennett wrote and starred in the Radio Series Bennett Arron Worries Aboutand Bennett Arron is Jewelsh – both of which were nominated for a Celtic Media Awards. He supported Ricky Gervais on some of his tour dates and he recently starred in all four series of the Radio 4 Series ALONE.

As well as performing as a Comedian he has also spoken at many Conferences around the world on the subject of Fraud, ID Theft and Data Protection. He was the Guest Speaker at TheInternational Fraud Convention in Italy, The International Congress On Anti-Fraud & Anti-Corruption in Poland and Infosec, Europe. He was also the Opening Keynote Speaker at Auscert in Queensland, Australia

Bennett has had over 30 sitcom scripts produced on TV and Radio. He wrote on the BAFTA-winning Graham Norton Show as well as the BAFTA-winning children’s sitcom The Slammer.

Bennett presented the BBC documentary The Kosher Comedian in which he traced his family’s roots from Lithuania to South Wales. He also directed and presented the Channel 4 documentary How To Steal An Identity in which he stole the identity of the Home Secretary. The programme was Pick of the Day in The Guardian and The Telegraph, described as “Fascinating and Disturbing” by the TV Times, and Bennett was short-listed for a BAFTA.

He has written two books: the memoir Heard The One About Identity Theft? and the romantic comedy novel The Girl From The Discotheque.

Bennett is a past winner of both the TAPS Comedy Writer of the Year Award and the BBC New Writer's Award and is a past finalist of the BBC New Comedy Awards.However his proudest moment was coming third in an International Disco Dancing Championship in Tenerife.

Bennett has been called; “Genuinely Original and Funny” by The Times “Hilarious...razor sharp” by The Standard, and “A Welsh Seinfeld” by The Guardian.

Appointed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) as its first Director of Aviation Security on 1st April 2014, Peter is the Aviation Security Regulator for the UK.  In 2018, the Cyber Security Oversight of UK aviation sector was added to his portfolio. He previously served as Director of Security & Business Continuity for the Home Office for 5 years.  Prior to this, Peter had served for 32 years in the Royal Air Force from which he retired as an Air Commodore in April 2007.  His last appointments were as Provost Marshal for the RAF and Commandant General of the Royal Air Force Regiment.  He has been a Corporate Security Director for 20 years.

Spent 9 years with TVP in many departments including Method and Special Tactics, pro-active Burglary team and as a Method of Entry officer (Forcing entry under warrant)

Continued in Security ever since and have worked at Oxford University and for the Government.

Branched into retail as a Regional Loss Prevention Manager and then secured a role with TJK Europe as a European Technical Specialist.

Became a Technical Director for a consultancy that dealt with Maritime and Superyacht technology.

Now with AtkinsRealis as an Associate Consultant, and part of a team of inspiring individuals, I provide security consultancy + Design reviews spanning across the various sectors.

A keen advocate for Mental Health, using exercise and the gym to reach out to guys and promote better understanding of the problems that we as “Blokes” go through.
