Esther 9 and 10 are the finale of the book of Esther. Reading how the Jews got relief from their enemies, and the month that had been turned for them from sorrow into gladness and from mourning into a holiday makes difficult reading for Christians. The Reveal … We finally get to the point where Esther reveals her heritage to the king. In his rage he goes out into the garden only to return finding Haman pleading for his life. Misunderstanding Haman’s actions he has him impaled on the pole Haman had built for his enemy, Mordecai.So much conflict and tension in this world can be directly traced to misunderstanding and pre-judgement about others actions and words.How can we be wise about such things? “The enemy of my enemy is my friend” isn’t he? Mordecai’s people are still subjugated under the rule of Xerxes, the king of Persia. What would you do if you heard of a plot against the man who is subjecting you to servitude?Mordecai reveals the plot and saves the king’s life.
