If you’ve tried plans, tracking, food rules, mindset work, resets, “I’ll start again Monday” — and you still end up back in the same loop… this episode is going to hit.
Because emotional eating isn’t a behaviour problem.
And the reason it keeps coming back isn’t because you lack discipline.
It’s because it’s a survival strategy.
In this episode, I unpack:
We talk about emotional eating as regulation. As protection. As a very intelligent system doing the best it can.
And I’ll walk you through what actually creates change — not more control, not more rules, not more shame — but safety underneath the behaviour.
Because when you build safety, the strategy softens.
Not because you forced it.
Because you no longer need it in the same way.
If you’ve ever understood your patterns but still lived inside them…If you’ve ever felt ashamed because you “know better” but can’t stop…If you’re exhausted from trying to fix yourself…
This one’s for you.
Healing isn’t about discipline.
It’s about safety.
And a woman who feels safe inside herself doesn’t keep outsourcing her power.
She becomes self-led.

In this episode, I’m joined by UK-certified naturopath and yoga teacher Lottie Davies for a grounded and deeply validating conversation about hormones, cravings, nervous system healing, and cyclical living.
We explore what it actually means to reconnect to your body — not through control, restriction, or more rules — but through understanding your natural rhythms.
Inside this conversation, we unpack:
– Why PMS isn’t a problem — it’s feedback
– What cravings can reveal about depletion, stress, or unmet needs
– The gut–brain connection and emotional regulation
– How chronic stress blocks healing (even if you’re “doing everything right”)
– Why the luteal phase often brings clarity, not chaos
– What undernourishment really looks like
– And the simplest place to start if you feel disconnected from your body
We also speak about emotional eating, food noise, and the way women are taught to override their cycles in a world built on a 24-hour rhythm.
Your body is not broken.
It’s not betraying you.
It’s always trying to bring you back to balance.
And as Lottie so beautifully says in this episode, you already know.
You just might need the space to listen.

Recently I took time off Instagram and it changed a lot more than I expected.
It didn’t just make me less distracted. It changed the level of presence I have in my relationship. It shifted my creativity. It brought back gratitude in a way I wasn’t even trying to practice. And it also showed me something confronting about my inner critic, my appearance, and how distorted our perception becomes when we’re constantly consuming curated lives.
In this episode, I share what happened when I deleted the app, why comparison isn’t something you can “just stop,” and how social media quietly becomes an environment your nervous system is responding to.
We also talk about:
This is not about being more disciplined with screen time.
It’s about noticing what changes when you stop feeding your system constant stimulation, comparison, and pressure.

In this episode, I’m talking about something that’s been sitting in my system for a while.
That my relationship with food was never actually about food, it mirrored my relationship to my emotions.
For years, I thought I had a discipline problem. I thought I needed more control, more willpower, more consistency. But the deeper I’ve gone into this work, the clearer it’s become. Food was never the issue. It was the strategy my system used when I didn’t know how to hold what I was feeling.
I explore how emotional eating and restriction can be two sides of the same pattern, how people pleasing and caretaking often sit underneath food struggles, and why the body never does anything for no reason.
I also share why IFS is such a powerful approach for emotional eating, not because it gives you more tools or rules, but because it brings you back into relationship with your own system, so the need for food to regulate you begins to soften naturally.

At the time of recording, I had two cysts removed from my scalp, and the next morning I couldn’t stop thinking about how incredible the human body is.
Because without instructions, without micromanagement, and without force, it immediately began repairing itself.
And that’s exactly what your system is doing when you emotionally eat.
In this episode, I’m unpacking why emotional eating is rarely about food, and why it’s not self sabotage, laziness, or a lack of discipline. It’s often a nervous system strategy for relief, regulation, and unmet needs.
We’ll explore the deeper link between emotional eating and people pleasing, why high functioning women often override their capacity until the pressure becomes unbearable, and how food becomes the safest place to soften when your emotions don’t feel safe to express.
I’ll also explain why shaming yourself makes the cycle tighter, and how IFS therapy helps you meet the parts underneath the pattern so food doesn’t have to keep doing the job.
Because your body isn’t the enemy.
It never was.
It’s been trying to heal you this whole time.

What if strength training had nothing to do with getting smaller and everything to do with living better.
In this episode, I’m joined by Naz Demirtas, certified strength coach and sports nutrition and health coach, to talk about what changes when women stop training for aesthetics and start training for capability.
Naz shares how pregnancy became the turning point that shifted her from dieting and control into deep respect for what the female body can do, and why she now teaches women to build the kind of strength that protects their independence later in life.
We unpack muscle loss after 30, why women often under eat protein without realising it, how blood sugar and stress can amplify cravings, and why restriction so often backfires into bingeing or emotional eating.
This is a grounded conversation about training, nourishment, nervous system load, and what it looks like to build a body you can trust, not punish.

There’s a kind of tiredness I want to talk about today.
Not the tiredness sleep fixes.
Not the tiredness a holiday fixes.
But the exhaustion that comes from carrying too much for too long.
If you’re someone who is capable, responsible, high functioning…
If your life mostly looks “together”…
And food is the one place where things sometimes unravel —
This episode is for you.
Because if emotional eating were about discipline, it wouldn’t keep happening.
If it were about willpower, knowing better would be enough.
And if it were about nutrition, you wouldn’t still feel stuck in the same cycles.
What’s actually happening is nervous system overload.
In this episode, we explore:
We talk about the pressure so many women carry — the good girl template, hyper-independence, holding it together, not needing anything, not slowing down — and how that pressure lives in the body.
This episode is also about what actually changes things.
Not more rules.
Not more control.
Not trying harder.
But shifting the relationship you have with yourself.
Learning to meet the parts of you that learned to cope in silence.
Letting your body become a place you can actually be.
Slowing down just enough to feel what you need — rest, connection, boundaries, softness, pleasure.
Because food was never the problem.
And neither were you.
Your system adapted brilliantly to survive.
And now it’s asking for something different.
Not fixing.
Not pressure.
But a safer, more attuned relationship with yourself.

In this episode, I want to gently but firmly challenge one of the most damaging ideas we’ve been taught about our bodies.
That our body is the problem.
That our eating is the problem.
That weight changes, emotional eating, restriction, or body hatred mean we’ve failed in some way.
They don’t.
Through an Internal Family Systems and somatic trauma lens, we explore how the body doesn’t just react to life, it adapts to it. How posture, muscle tension, digestion, weight, and eating patterns can all be forms of protection shaped by lived experience, not personal weakness.
We talk about how parts of us live not just in our thoughts, but in our bodies. How the nervous system learns what feels safe, what feels threatening, and how it organizes protection around that. Why weight can become insulation or a boundary. Why digestion often struggles under chronic stress. Why tension shows up in shoulders, jaws, guts, and hearts long before we have words for it.
This episode also explores:
Nothing in you is random.
Nothing in you is broken.
Your body has been responding intelligently to what it learned it needed to survive.
Healing doesn’t happen through force or control.
It happens through attunement, pacing, and building enough internal safety for protection to soften.
If you’ve ever felt confused, frustrated, or ashamed that your body won’t “respond” to doing all the right things, this episode is an invitation to see yourself differently.
With curiosity instead of control.
With respect instead of force.

Content note:
This episode includes discussion of eating disorders, including bulimia, and explores emotional eating through a therapeutic lens. Please listen with care and take what feels supportive for you.
In this episode, I want to talk about something that gets missed in almost every conversation about emotional eating.
Because food isn’t always just regulating emotions.
Sometimes, food is holding roles that never should have belonged to you in the first place.
Through an Internal Family Systems and nervous system lens, we explore how early family dynamics shape the way our bodies cope later in life. How becoming the responsible one, the peacekeeper, the emotional buffer, or the caretaker can load your nervous system with far more than it was ever meant to carry.
And when that load gets too heavy, food often steps in.
Not because you’re weak.
Not because you lack discipline.
But because your system is trying to discharge what it never had support to process.
In this episode, we explore:
This is a deeper conversation about emotional eating. One that moves beyond behaviour, blame, and willpower, and into the roles your system learned to survive.
If you’ve ever felt like you’re carrying too much, holding everything together, or wondering why food is the one place things fall apart, this episode will land.
Food is rarely the problem.
It’s often the place your system finally lets go.
