While God spoke to Moses in the mount giving him instructions for the tabernacle and the sacrifices, Israel becomes impatient and concludes Moses must be dead or gone. They ask Aaron to make them gods to worship and he takes their jewelry and makes a molten calf. Moses comes down from the mountain with the ten commandments and breaks the tablets in his anger and calls upon the sons of Levi to cut down friends and family transgressing against God.

In this chapter God tells Moses who he has appointed to build certain temple objects because he has given them skill and understanding. He reminds Moses of the importance of keeping the sabbath holy. Those who do not will be put to death.

God gives Moses the procedures for making various kinds of offerings including one called the ransom for the soul.

God gives Moses details about the sacrifices to be made to him in the tabernacle Israel is building for God to dwell among his people in the wilderness.

God describes the robes to be worn by the priests when they minister to the Lord and atone for the sins of Israel.

In this chapter Moses continues receiving instructions for the tabernacle of the testimony.

God gives Moses a detailed set of instructions for making the Tabernacle of testimonies.

Moses receives instructions for building the Ark of the Covenant and the tabernacle of testimonies so God can dwell among his people.

Moses and the elders of Israel go upon mount Sinai to meet with God. They eat with him and he calls Moses and Joshua to receive the Ten Commandments.

In this chapter various laws continue including the laws pertaining to keeping the feasts. God then informs Israel that if they will keep these laws, God will fight their battles. Making Israel's enemies God's enemies. And he will send his angel and his hornets before them driving the inhabitants out of the land little by little until Israel can occupy it.
