The angel of death passed over Israel and killed the first-born of Egypt from Pharaoh to the maid in the dungeon and all cattle. Israel plundered the Egyptians and they were sent away in haste with great plunder.

God tells Moses he is about to send the last plague on Egypt, one that will cause Pharaoh to release Israel. And he tells Moses to tell his people to go and plunder the Egyptians quietly asking for gold and silver before the plague comes that they may leave with plunder

God sends the following plagues on Egypt:

Locusts lay waste to all that which is left in Egypt
Three days of deep darkness

Pharaoh threatens Moses with death if he should ever see him again.

Pharaoh's heart remained hard that God could reveal his glory to the world through Pharaoh. God struck Egypt with many plagues: wiping out only Egyptian cattle, afflicting the people with boils, a warning was issued that a great hail was coming and all those not indoors would die. The next day God struck Egypt with hailstones mixed with fire killing all those who were not inside their homes.

Moses works more miracles to get Pharaoh to release Israel to make sacrifices to God. In this chapter, he unleashes frogs, lice and gadflies on Egypt. And after the plague of the frogs, the plagues cease affecting the children of Israel. Only Egypt is afflicted that they may know this is the hand of God.

Because Pharao refused to hearken to the voice of the Lord Moses and Aaron begin working signs and wonders delivering Egypt's first plauge: water turned to blood.

After being scouraged the accountants of Israel questioned God's plan to Moses. And when Moses relays their concerns and reminds God he has not delivered his people. God reminds Moses of his promises and who he is. And he sends Moses back to Pharaoh.

Because Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh to request a 3 day journey into the wilderness to worship God, he refused to supply straw for brick making, but demanded the same quota be met. As a result, the children of Israel were upset with Moses and Aaron.

God instructed Moses in the wilderness. Moses asked God to send someone else smoother of speech, which made God angry. He then said he would send Aaron with Moses to Egypt to be his mouth.

While tending Jothor's flocks Moses sees a bush that's burning but not consumed. After going to investigage, God calls to him from the bush and commissions Moses to deliver his people from their bondage to the Egyptians.
