Qiddist is a traditional midwife, alchemy educator, teacher of inside-out liberation, and co-founder of The Holy Well (previously known as The Womb Room). On this week’s episode I welcome a friend, teacher, and fellow art witch/medicine woman, Nicole Granati.

Nicole is a spiritual midwife, psychic minister, animal communicator and clairvoyant healer who helps people navigate the great in-betweens—whether that's birth, death, or stepping into a new chapter of life. With one foot in the mystical and the other firmly planted on Earth (probably barefoot), she offers deep care, clear vision, and a little bit of well-timed cackling to those walking the path of transformation.

• The massive death portal of her dog, her grandmother, and her pregnancy release (abortion) that initiated her into the work she now offers as a spiritual midwife
• The process of mourning her maidenhood journey and stepping into her motherhood path without any cultural support, acknowledgment, or initiation

• The severe lack of postpartum care, support, and education for miscarriages and abortions

In this extended episode, Christiana shares her painful but, unfortunately, very common story of gynecological abuse and medical negligence during an unmedicated cervical biopsy and how the abuse echoed through her body for years after the fact in the form of interstitial cystitis.

I also share my own experience of gynecological rape and how it took me years to unravel the deep sense of betrayal that I felt towards a female health care provider that assaulted me within a medical context.

For both Christiana and I, we see the suffering that we've experienced in our wombs and pelvic bowls as the big initiations into the womb work that we do today. However, we also firmly align with the truth that women should not have to be undergo any form of medical rape in order to step into their role as womb wisdom keepers and women's health care practitioners.
