In the summer of 1992 I lost control of myself and my emotions and they drove me to violence (I was familiar with violence while growing up). I could’ve lost everything because I couldn’t control my anger (I literally blacked out)….I could have killed him that day.
I think back to the many blessings that have come my way. All of these things could have been lost and wasted in an instant because I lost control. We have the ability to choose alternative ways to deal with anger. When we get mad, we hardly ever think of the consequences of our actions.

I hate cliches' because they don't drill deep enough. Being "prepared" is something that most people say is the key to their success...but what exactly does that mean? In this episode, I drill down deep into the foundation of preparedness.

One of the dopest things you can do for others is help them define their own success. Sometimes your own definition of success is buried under trauma, surroundings, lack of belief, lack of knowledge, or a relationship (that you didn’t choose).
I visited my old high school and they were gracious enough to allow me to speak to the football team (on very short notice). I shared with them the mistakes I made while in HS, the relationships that I needed to break, and a conversation I had w/ a teacher that changed my life! I also asked them 5 questions that can help them find their own definition of success.
1. Where do you want to go?
2. Who do you need to become?
3. Are you ok becoming that person?
4. Who’s holding you accountable & do you trust them?
5. What am I willing to sacrifice & what type of discipline will it take to achieve it?
