The Shining is one of Stephen King’s most popular novels. It also happens to be one of Stanley Kubrick’s most famous films, considered by many to be one the greatest horrors films ever made! The only thing is, the two entities–novel and film–are so different, that many have taken to referring to Kubrick’s film as having been “based on” Stephen King’s novel, not an actual adaptation.
