One year ago, Antioch Church was a vision. Today, it’s a growing family. In this episode, host Casey and co-host Ed look back on a year of church planting and share what God has been doing among us.

They talk about our growing membership, including the young families with kids who have started calling Antioch home. That growth brings a good problem: right now our children have only about 50 square feet for Sunday school. Casey and Ed also share stories from Casey's prison ministry, the Jesus Club, the baptisms they've celebrated, and the discipleship that’s helping people grow deeper in their faith.

All of this has brought us to our next step. We’re raising $100,000 to secure a new location where Antioch can put down roots and make room for everyone God is sending our way, especially the next generation. We need 1000 people to commit to $100, that will secure one years rent.

Todays episode features a sit down with Brendan Corbett, a retired Assistant Sheriff of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, who devoted more than 40 years to law enforcement, marked by integrity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to public safety. 

• Born in Los Angeles and raised with strong Irish immigrant roots, his early life—shaped by the loss of his mother at a young age and his upbringing in Whittier—instilled determination and a deep sense of service inspired by his father’s distinguished public-sector career. 

• Joining LASD in 1985 as a member of Academy Class 228, Brendan built an illustrious career that included 15 years with the Special Enforcement Bureau serving on K-9 and SWAT teams, where he demonstrated exceptional tactical skill, leadership, and mentorship. 

• His service earned numerous honors, including a Meritorious Conduct Medal (Silver), three Distinguished Service Medals, the NYPD Detective Endowment Association Award (2018), and the Center for Health Justice Pioneer Award (2021), along with commendations for acts of courage such as saving a suicidal jumper. Holding a Bachelor of Science degree and extensive specialized training, Brendan consistently emphasized accountability, community engagement, and trust-building, leaving a lasting legacy of service, leadership, and dedication that continues to influence public safety and community relations.
