The Grain Valley Marching Eagles have the honor of representing KC in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! They will travel over 400 people to NYC to take part in this year's festivities. Band Director Reed and students Scott and Bailey stopped by to tell us all about the fundraising they've done to go, how you get 200 instruments to New York and what their plan is for 7 days in the Big Apple. From #TheShowKC...the aftermath of our staff "Girls Night Out" on Friday. Jen loves to watch The Weather Channel with her cat in her down time. The Show chose their winner of the American Music Awards trip to Hollywood and she was our best of all time. Cindy and her husband, Mark, are so excited to go! She can't wait to see Sting. Travis Kelce drew the ire of officials during this weekend's Chiefs game by throwing his towel at the ref. Kelce is known for "hitting the quan" after a touchdown, so Truta attempts this dance move. Later on in the show he even watches a tutorial from YouTube. This doesn't help, but it sure does make good video (make sure to check them out on our Facebook and Twitter pages!). The Cubs visited SNL. Tomorrow is Election Day (thank goodness!). A list of the biggest lies spouses tell each other. The Show wants to do the Mannequin Challenge.

From #TheShowKC on Friday: the Cubs are having their victory parade today and millions of people are expected in Grant Park. The TV ratings are in for the World Series Game 7 and Kansas City had the largest audience outside of Chicago and Cleveland. We really love our baseball here! Shaylee is in early to see comedian Colin Kane. Jen is having trouble with people stealing from her at work. We have a K Cup maker in the studio and Jen lives on her morning coffee. Sometime between Natalie's show last night and 5am today, someone ripped open a new box of K Cup coffees and stole most of them. What have you had stolen from you at work? Great listener calls here. There is all sorts of folklore surrounding the Cubs win in the World Series, some of which made us cry. Truta played audio of a guy who cracked open a beer he'd been saving for 32 years to drink when Chicago won it all. We're sure it was skunky. Also, there are many reports of people predicting the win - a guy in his 1993 yearbook said so - and Truta played audio from a 2015 episode of Parks and Recreation set in the year 2017 where they talk about the Cubs winning the Series. Next, Truta survey time. This morning it was the best cartoon theme songs of all time. Comedian Colin Kane came by and we could play about 52 seconds of his appearance. Shaylee still had to pay up for choosing Ryan Lochte in The Show's Dancing With The Stars draft. There will be a big Chiefs game this weekend and most of the players are out with injuries. It is also the Fall Back weekend - don't forget to reset your clocks. See you Monday!

Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win! After an amazing World Series, the Cubbies finally took home the crown! Ben Zobrist was the hero (especially amongst us Kansas Citians) for his game-winning double and was awarded the MVP. We try and reach our sports analyst, Andrew Carter from KCTV 5, but he was probably sleeping somewhere strange after a wild night in Wrigleyville. Everyone on #TheShowKC picked a song for the weekly Throwback Throwdown...and Truta picked the girliest song of everyone! Jen has a couple of the original seats from old Wrigley field. Her husband's family picked them up in the 70's when the club renovated the stadium. What weird stuff do you have in your collection? We got everything from old appliances to an actor's nose (just listen). Shales updates us on her man. Seems like the two have been burning up the text lines. Lindsay Lohan somehow acquired a weird accent. Can Jen or Truta finally break Shaylee's two week hold on the Throwback Throwdown voting? The Show wants to road trip to Chicago for the Cubs victory parade.

From #TheShowKC: the Cubs are playing tonight for all the marbles. It's still too early for Christmas music. Shaylee is walking on air after talking to her new guy. The plotting of Shaylee's non-existent wedding continues. What do we spend 80 minutes per day doing? The Show is really good at this thing, by the way. We attempt to find the couple that went from meeting to wedding the fastest. Listen to find out how Craigslist fit into that. Lauren from Catching Kelce calls in to talk about the new episode showing tonight on E! She fills us in on Travis away from the cameras, while Jen tries to pry information out of her, to no avail. Shaylee plays against a listener in another edition of Gen-X vs Millennial...where she racks up the huge score of zero. Nada. She knows nothing. Various listener e-mails are read about #Christmas music. Opinion is split between those who want us to wait and others who want the station to flip right now. KU basketball started their season last night. Jen and Truta realize that, of the 3 of The Show members, Shaylee has met the most celebrities. She is always backstage meeting some artists.

The Halloween hangover show. What were the big costumes of the trick or treat night? It was way too hot to be Halloween. The girls want Christmas music and they want it NOW! Happy Halloween from #TheShowKC! Off the top of the show, everyone dazzled in their costumes (just look at the pictures!). There was Truta as Ken Bone, the debate guy. Shaylee was Minnie Mouse AND helped to dress Jen as a large giraffe beanie baby complete with name tag. You will hear early that Jen got so hot she had to take her pants off. Yikes! It was revealed that this would be a day of surprises and the first did not disappoint: we would be talking to the REAL Ken Bone! So, that happened. Plus, we recapped the weekend in Chiefs, World Series watching and what went down at the American Royal. Jen's kids puked in a restaurant, which was already bad, but then she had to drive home in her brand new car! KCTV5 sports reporter Andrew Carter checked in from Chicago, where he's been hanging out with friends and family taking in the World Series. How much does it cost just to go to a Windy City bar these days? Plus, we chat Chiefs and get into the twitter war between Alex Smith's wife and weatherman Gary Lezak. Finally, in a not so good Halloween surprise, David from the KC Zoo is back with another creepy crawly: a tarantula!! Just watch the Facebook Live video on this one, people! Ugh! A random Friday on #TheShowKC! Truta wants to skip out on the American Royal to watch the Cubs first World Series game inside Wrigley Field for more than 70 years. Halloween is coming up and Shaylee is making Jen a costume. We get the follow up from Shaylee's dating game...has contact been made between Shales and her match? After playing Michael Jackson's "Human Nature" the crew discuss various songs that sampled the tune, including SWV's "Right Now." Where is SWV now? The new KC102.1 Flyaway to the AMA's is announced. Jen has fun discussing Shaylee's non-existent wedding, reception and baby names. Truta's theory that the Facebook marketplace is only for voyeurs gets a boost during Halloween week as a lot of "sexy" costumes have been advertised -- complete with pictures of their current owner in them. Also, the question is asked: how many holiday inflatables in the yard is too many? Finally, Christina from @KCParent comes on to talk about the family activities taking place this weekend. It is the day #TheShowKC have been waiting for. Excitement is in the air as Jen and Truta present the Shaylee Dating Game! We get to find a date for our millennial, Shales. Since we know she loves soccer, Jen teamed up with our friends at the Kansas City Comets @cometsMASL and also brought in our buddy Andrew Carter, sports reporter @KCTV5. There are some other things including the Halloween-themed Throwback Throwdown and whatnot, but you came for the dating game and you're staying for the other stuff. Admit it. And enjoy...

From #TheShowKC: It doesn't feel like fall. Truta voted early but refrained from taking a ballot selfie, unlike Justin Timberlake. Jen and Truta try to get Shaylee to bring them breakfast. The Cubs lost Game 1 of the World Series in a blowout to the Indians. There's another try tonight. The girls are still trying to figure out their Halloween costumes. Listeners chime in with the worst Halloween candy. Truta maintains it is candy corn, but we add plenty others to the list. Does Truta sound anything like the Buffalo Bill guy from Silence of the Lambs? He thinks he does, the girls just think he sounds creepy. Listener Kathy plays Gen-X vs Millennial and wins 2000-5.
