What a HUGE #TheShowKC Thanksgiving Special today! First, we checked in with listeners all over Kansas City as to where they are traveling for the weekend. We have friends of the show going to Orlando, Raleigh, Minneapolis, Illinois and even Licking, Missouri! Jen won The Show's Dancing With The Stars draft. Kanye has been hospitalized. What state has the fastest speed limits? Whatever it is, you don't want to speed through Iowa. Kansas City, MO Mayor Sly James joined us in studio for a full half hour to talk about the Mayor's Christmas Tree and the Fund to help our neighbors. We also chatted about football, the streetcar, becoming a nice society, what's ahead for KC and how never gets to go to the movies. Finally, Olympic gold medalist and Blue Valley North grad Jack Sock stopped by - along with his gold medals - to talk about flipping the switch to turn on the Plaza Lights. Jack also had a great year tennis-wise, performing well at Wimbledon and the U.S. Open. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone, from all of us at The Show! A truncated #TheShowKC #SHOWcast today due to the ongoing technical difficulties. We learned something big about Jen today: the school she went to growing up did not have a cafeteria, playground equipment or a gym! We are still amazed she had a roof and indoor plumbing. Penny Pinching Mom stopped by to talk about Black Friday deals and having a plan for dealing with those crowds.

Our friend Bebe Wood just finished shooting part of this season of The Real O'Neals (Tuesday nights on ABC) and is back in KC for the holiday. And what else would she do than stop by the studio to co-host today's show and chat music, TV shows, the AMAs, weird family Thanksgiving stories, Stranger Things and so much more!

In this edition of KC Closeup, Union Station CEO George Guastello tells us all about the upcoming holiday activities taking place at this amazing landmark, as well as the Pompeii exhibition and so much more! Then, Dave Borchardt from the Kansas City Sports Commission talks about the upcoming Thanksgiving 5k and Family Stroll, taking place this Thursday morning at the Sprint campus.

First off, sorry for being so erratic. Technical difficulties at the KC1021 Broadcasting Compound have made the SHOWcast a lot harder to produce lately. Engineers are working 'round the clock on the problem. Nevertheless, we press on to bring you some of the best bits of #TheShowKC over the past couple of days. First, we chat with TV and movie star - and now, singing sensation - Jane Lynch (Glee, Best In Show, et al) who previews her new Christmas song: Winter's Never Cold (When You're Around). Jen and Truta have a lot of reasons to be competitive this weekend. Truta's Bishop Miege Stags take on the Basehor Bobcats who are coached by Jen's dad. PLUS Truta faces Jen in the office fantasy football league. Truta gets called immature at home because he uses a spoon all of the time. His lady tells him that only children eat with spoons. The Show chats with Kindra Brown, a KC Wedding planner/consultant, about holiday engagements. Walmart manager Matt Cable comes in to talk about the hot toys for Christmas 2016, throw out some tips for Black Friday shopping and delivers TWO Hatchimals to The Show that you can win right now by registering at KC1021.com. KCK Mayor Mark Holland stopped in the studio to talk about the Kansas City, Kansas holiday lighting ceremony. The girls try a new holiday cookie dough beer and share drinking stories. George Guastello, the CEO of Union Station, dropped in to talk about Christmas at Union Station and their big tree lighting ceremony taking place Saturday evening (Nov 19th).

From #TheShowKC: the messages are coming in fast and furious with people wanting Truta to start the Christmas music. But he's a big ol'Scrooge. There have been some big concert announcements lately. First we told you about Bruno Mars coming to Sprint Center next August along with Ellie Goulding. That is now officially the Truta birthday concert. Jen was visiting a friend in the hospital and her cell phone went off...loudly! And this was after she had downloaded the Hershey's Kisses Christmas commercial. We ask, in what embarrassing place has your phone gone off? Truta loves the David Blaine special while Jen could not care less. We play a round of Trick or Trending for the Bruno tickets. Avery Schlereth is one of the final four on the Catching Kelce reality show. Jen tries to dig in an find out if she is the one dating Kelce. The Rock was named the Sexiest Man Alive (Truta was 2nd). And the Penny Pinching Mom comes back set us up for Black Friday and give us the low down on the big deals coming up. And we preview a great upcoming week on The Show!

After the girls threw Truta some nice compliments yesterday, he and Shaylee felt like Jen should be made to feel good today. Jen sends Shaylee to track down the new Nintendo NES Classic -- except that no one has it! The messages we've been receiving about the playing of Christmas music (or not) have been hilarious. Truta reads some on the air, including the woman who thinks he hates Christmas. Comedian Dante came by to talk about the latest films he's been working on and do his famed Wizard of Oz impression. From #TheShowKC on Thursday: Shaylee had a date last night. We find out how that goes. Today is another Throwback Throwdown segment where listeners can vote by text for their favorite #TBT song to be played at 8:45. We try to find out if there is hidden meaning in Shaylee's choice. Truta can not say the date and time correctly. Jen fell asleep yesterday before picking up her kids and then forgot to pick them up from school. Luckily her friend was around and took care of the girls, but we wanted to know: who has forgotten their kids or been forgotten by parents? Turns out there are some great stories! With two girls and just one guy on the show, Truta sometimes feels ganged-up on (say what?). Since yesterday was a time to compliment Shaylee, the girls gave Truta some love today. There is drama around the Throwback Throwdown...will the listeners' votes mirror that of the election? Find out!!!

From #TheShowKC: The post-election daze. We'll try to entertain you and make you forget about it! Shaylee has a first date with her new man tonight. Where do you take first dates? A listener called up and suggested the Nelson Atkins Museum -- great! Then we had Brandon on the phone. Brandon has been dropping $100-300 PER DATE for a bunch of women who eventually ghost on him! Hear Brandon's story and then hear about the girls who want to get hooked up with him. He's dropping cash on helicopter rides, Plaza III dinners...Truta wants to date him! Listener Eric calls up to play Gen-X vs Millennial. We award tickets in the third row to TSO. There is almost a fire in our building.

It's the #ElectionDay Special(?) on #TheShowKC. Really, there's nothing special. Get out and vote, people. Shaylee voted this morning. There are a lot of freebies to be had if you vote. The Grain Valley Marching Eagles band is performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade and they stopped by to tell us about their trip. Truta HAHA'd a dead dog story on Facebook. Penny Pinching Mom gives us the hot toys of Christmas.
