The Show with Jen and Truta

It's May and #TheShowKC and KC 102.1 are excited for 102k In May. Listen during 7 am, 9 am, 1 pm and 5 pm for your chance to qualify! Jen, Truta and Joey had to come up with two truths and a lie! The vent line was open! And Jen wanted to see who Tweeted it between Jen, Truta, Shaylee and Joey!

Monday Funday is down a player today with Mike Kellar off for a special training spin with the US Marines. Whoa! We'll get all of the scoop next week. So, Truta and Shaylee pick up the slack today, grading the Chiefs draft picks; was Baker Mayfield really worth the #1 pick overall; Sporting KC had a really lazy loss to New England; the Royals won a doubleheader over the weekend but may run into a buzz saw with the Red Sox; why was KC (the W guy) let go by the team? Does it have anything to do with some crazy Moose talk on Facebook? We end - crazily enough - with Premiere League talk. Of call things. It's quite a Monday Funday... enjoy.

It's gonna be May on #TheShowKC and we kicked off 102k in May today! Last year, Jamie from Independence walked away from our event with $102,000! Jen discussed going to see "Weird Al" Yankovic going over the weekend and we got a call from a man that got to meet him after is sold out show at the Foley Theater! A game of trick or trending was played! And we got our winner to see Billy Joel in Kansas City AND in Chicago!

Your chance to qualify for 102k in May happens on KC 102.1 in the hour of 7 am, 9 am, 1 pm and 5 pm!

The March of Dimes will hold their annual March For Babies this Sunday on Paige Field at the Sprint Campus in Overland Park. March of Dimes is more than 80 years old. Ashley Higgins, a mission mom, talks to Truta today about the importance of March of Dimes to both her family and millions across America.

It's Friday on #TheShowKC and we want to know how you are #Blessed going into the weekend! A round of Think 'N Sync was played and #TheShowKC tried to match each other's answers!

Next week, qualifying for 102K In May begins! Last year Jamie from Independence took home 102,000 dollars! Get qualified on KC 102.1 in the hours of 7 am, 9 am, 1 pm and 5 pm!

Next week is also National Concert Week and KC 102.1 and we will have your chance to win concert tickets all week, every hour from 9-5!

It's Throwback Throwdown day on #TheShowKC! #TheShowKC is now two and the members of #TheShowKC answered a series of questions as best as they could (though Shaylee and Joey both ignored a question or two)! Truta typed in the beginning of phrases into Google for a game of Google Predicts! Jen and Shaylee set a record for most correct answers!

Last night, Joey went to the Jack White concert, a concert and cellphones were not allowed! Kevin Hart's upcoming performance in Kansas City will kick out anyone that tries to use a phone too! This caused #TheShowKC to discuss the no cellphones at performances and got some great calls from a woman with theater experience and a woman that attended a previous Kevin Hart show with the same policy! It's Wednesday and that means Gen-X vs Millennial! Today, Truta represented Generation X and took on a millennial!

We are in the final days to qualify for the Billy Joel here and there flyaway! We have your chances in the 7 am, 1 pm and 5 pm hour to qualify! And you are listening for back to back Taylor Swift songs on KC 102.1 all week because caller 102 will be winning tickets to see T-Swift at Arrowhead!

#TheShowKC opened up the Vent Line on a Tuesday morning! Callers vents would lead us down the rabbit hole of what strange things you saw while you were driving which led Truta to really want a cheeseburger! We also played a round of Think 'N Sync which led to people weighing in on different pizza toppings and Truta being absolutely shocked that him and Shaylee didn't Think 'N Sync on something that should have been a gimme.

There is a lot to discuss on today's Monday Funday... the Royals finally win a series against an opponent. Where does the team go from here? Sporting KC made a statement on Saturday with a big win over Vancouver. Are they the best team in the league? As a Chiefs fan are you even slightly interested in draft day? These questions probably won't get answered, but Mike, Truta and Shaylee will have fun discussing them. Plus, what happens when you put Mike in a race car and send him flying around Kansas Speedway.

On #TheShowKC, Jen talked about she got to be a race card passenger! Like a boss! Truta fixed the dryer! Like a boss! We then wanted to know how you got to feel like a boss! A game of Trick Or Trending was played! Currently trending is that Will and Kate welcomed their third child in the world, Truta is of course giddy about the new royal baby!

We are also in your last week to qualify to see Billy Joel here and in Chicago. Listen in the hours of 7, 1 and 5 for your chance to qualify!

Also, listen for back to back Taylor Swift songs on KC 102.1 all week! Caller 102 is going to see Taylor Swift live at Arrowhead!
