Pharaoh clearly says he’s sinned and asks Moses to entreat on his behalf. But, did he actually repent?

Seems unlikely given that the Text tells us he sinned again by hardening his heart and not letting the Israelites go.

It’s at this moment God tells Moses, I am continuing so that future generations of Israel know that I am YHWY (Exodus 10:1-3).

But, what could it have looked like if the most powerful person in the world went through the steps of repentance?

Pharaoh’s rhetoric does one thing and serves one purpose alone–to dehumanize God’s people.

But, through Moses, God gives us a solution for cutting through the derogatory, dehumanizing rhetoric of past and present demagogues—stop, look, and see the human being talked about.

Both Jacob and Joseph require the people to bring their bodies back to the promised land for burial. In those statements, interesting language emerges suggesting something is stopping Israel from leaving Egypt and returning to the promised land right then.
