I'm going to ask anybody listening on a scale of one to five, if one is a little and five is a lot, how loud and how often do you hear this internal critic? It's always there for all of us, but for a one - it's on all the time.

36:16   There's a universal teaching from the wisdom of the Enneagram that I like. And it says when we are able to notice what we're doing to experience our current state completely, and without judgment, the old patterns will begin to fall away. 10:47   The eight can stand up for people, but this is where they can get a bad rap. If they are upset, until they learn, they can overdo it. So in a meeting, they can call down the boss. And they frequently get fired because people can't take their personality because they will speak the truth, their truth.

15:42   For an eight, their life strategy is about taking action, correcting injustice, being strong, powerful, and in control, and create an intense life because they have this intense energy.

38:57   They rise to the top. They're not gonna be at the bottom. They're not going to be happy at the bottom and they're gonna rattle the cage until they're gonna get up higher.

The "Enthusiasts," or number seven on the Enneagram, see opportunity everywhere. They are adventurous and fun on the outside, but often avoid some of the deeper "negative" emotions. This can make them appear insensitive, flaky, and addictive. They're always up for something new, but when unhealthy, they may suffer "shiny object syndrome" and fail to follow through on commitments.

20:49   The seven has an insatiable quest for new ideas, experiences, options, possibilities, and excessive planning. But a quote for the seven is: over planning kills magic.

24:27   Allow yourself to be in the moment. This is one of the beauties of the seven, when they're genuinely in the moment, just bouncing from one thing to the other, without any guilt.

Often called the Loyal Sceptic, those who lead with Enneagram 6, are gifted with abilities to spot problems and detect BS. Sometimes thought to be "worst case scenario" thinkers, their tendency to plan ahead serves the entrepreneurial world well. When unhealthy, they can appear stubborn and obstructive.

Timestamps:
19:39   The virtue or the strength of the six is courage.

22:33   The six are sometimes whistle blowers because they're so loyal to a fault, and they're our forever friend. So they don't trust a lot of people and they sit back and watch. But once they trust you, they step across that invisible line and they are there for you, loyal in fact, sometimes to a fault.

46:41   The blind spot of the six is important because trying to prepare for what might go wrong, they can come across to others as negative or obstructive. And that's always a surprise to them. So why doesn't everybody do that? Self-doubt may show and cause others to doubt them. They're always surprised about that because all they're doing is asking and all they're doing is questioning. Questioning may come across as accusatory may seem prickly to others. And they may think that they are hiding worry, but others see it.

12:11   I hear from parents all the time, my kid goes in their room and they don't come out. And I'm worried about them. Well, for some kids that might be a major sign of depression, but a five - that's their normal habitat. That's where they wanna be. They wanna be there. They would like to be in there by themselves. That was a recharge place for them because their core belief is it's essential to conserve personal resources in a world that often demands more or supplies too little.

16:16   Fives - Their strength is they're tremendously observant, logical. They're perceptive, knowledgeable, reasonable, curious, reflective they're many times experts. They like to be experts analytical and synthetic. That means they can put all these different ideas together and come up with new unique ideas. They're self reliant pondering, and they have a very dry wit and fast on their feet.

31:11   With all the types, we tend to project whatever our type is. However, we see the world from our little goldfish view. We think that everybody else sees at the same and it's always a shock to find out they don't.

Type Four on the Enneagram can often be pining for the greener grass on the other side. If they're not careful, they can slip into melancholy and drama. When they're strong and healthy, fours can be creative, thoughtful, and deeply in touch with emotions they can be a strong support system for their network.

22:58   Fours: They always float up to the top. But they have to kind of ruminate down there - but they're okay.

34:21   If you think of some of the famous singers through the years who told their stories authentically, that was probably brought there by fours.

41:57   So the speaking style for the four can be dramatic, either a quiet, well modulated voice, or an intense often urgent cadence. That's part of marching to the tune of a different drummer.

12:43   It's like there's a lens over our eyes. And we assume that that's the way the world is because that's our perception. But it's just our perception.

14:16   TWOs attention goes to scanning for opportunities to be of service and ways to flatter others focused on other's perceived needs and how to meet them.

24:40   TWOs are probably the most prone to codependency. A female TWO, is a kind of double jeopardy for codependency. But codependency is something that can be cured and fixed. So it's not a permanent situation just in case those of you listening don't know what codependency is. It means that you care more about other people's needs in your own. So that sounds just like the two setups.
