GUEST: Jeff G. of The Cruz Show at REAL92-3FM Los Angeles joins me on the next episode for our first pod interview/convo. Jeff is a radio broadcaster, show producer, father, and most known for his knowledge and love of sports. Jeff has been in the LA radio market for decades. My dear friend DJ Vick One makes his debut on TSS and he is my first guest of 2023. Vick is a professional DJ for the L.A. Chargers at Sofi Stadium, L.A. Kings at Crypto.com Arena, and for the L.A. Galaxy at Dignity Health Sports Park. Vick was also formerly the ON-AIR DJ for the "Mickey Fickey Mix" on Big Boy's Neighborhood heard on REAL92-3FM for seven years. Vick and I spent our younger years working together at Power106FM Los Angeles where we originally met in the early 2000's. Vick speaks about what led him to DJ'ing as a teenager and what other career paths he might've traveled had DJ'ing never happened. We also get a dose of Vick's popular interviews he's had with the likes of Drake, 50 Cent, Jennifer Lopez, Lil Jon, and YG.

Darlene Rodrigo of iHeartMedia's KOST 103.5FM Los Angeles joins TSS this week. Darlene is the producer of The Ellen K Morning Show on KOST. Darlene has been a supporter of my podcast since day one and a dear friend to me. Not to mention she cooks some MEAN tamales. Darlene and I talk radio life, family life, and the recent loss of a co-worker/friend Forrest Martin. We also speak on Darlene becoming a parent to her first born daughter Bella and the challenges she faced once Bella was diagnosed with Down syndrome...then autism. There's so much more ground we cover to post about in this description, but I don't want to spoil the fun. Darlene eventually flips the podcast and interviews me! 

Tessa Malisani of Virgin 99.9FM/iHeartRadio joins me all the way from Toronto, Canada. Tessa is a radio and TV host, voiceover artist and a theatrically trained actress. Tessa talks about her early beginnings growing up as a kid knowing she wanted a future in radio. We also get a dose of some of her accents and voiceover work. Tessa also shares what it was like becoming a new mom during the pandemic. During this podcast Tessa was simultaneously doing her show on-air and stepped away to do her live breaks then come back to continue this podcast. Tessa is the woman of many roles on and off radio and this is my very first conversation with her. 

Special guest: Brooke Morrison stops by TSS. Brooke is a digital host, former on-air personality, and currently with Disney Music Group. She spent years working in radio and traveling the country. Brooke shares her experiences in her career and opens up about the loss of her mother to cancer at the very beginning of the pandemic. At the same time trying to balance her radio career in a new city (Miami). Brooke has witnessed and lived through quite a lot in her very young life and I appreciate her transparency in this interview. 

Special guest: Fred Roggin is featured this week on TSS. Fred is an iconic award-winning weekday sports anchor and radio sportscaster. He's known for his massively popular sports blooper shows he started back in the 80's, 'The Hall of Shame', & 'Roggin's Heroes'. As well as new shows still airing today, 'Going Roggin', 'The Challenge', and 'Roggin's Heroes Thanksgiving' all televised on NBC4LA. Fred also hosts a radio show with his co-host Rodney Peete, 'Roggin & Rodney' heard weekdays 12-3PM on iHeartRadio's AM570 LA Sports. We get a behind the scenes peek into Fred's early origins as a kid from Detroit, Michigan then moving to Phoenix to Globe then to Yuma, Arizona to eventually getting hired at the age of 18 to host his own Top40 radio show while doing the sports too. We learn who inspired Fred to get into sportscasting, and how he ended up in Los Angeles which would lead to his longest career of 42+years of being a broadcaster. I'd like to thank Fred for not only being so gracious with his time and transparency, but I'd also like to thank him for hiring me as the voiceover for three of his TV & streaming shows, 'The Challenge' + 'Roggin's Heroes Thanksgiving' + 'The Deans Office'.
