The Skol Hop

We tried something new on this episode. Evan bought 4 different beers that we’ve had on the show and put them behind a box with straws for Austin to guess. All things considered, Austin guessed pretty well! The featured beers of the episode were 2 great ones that were gifted to us by Titonka Brewing - the Klondike Vanilla Porter and the 40 Watt American Lager. Both great beers! Finally, we discussed who’s to blame for the Vikings 2025 season. Hopefully 2026 is better! We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! Burch the (Brown) Bear from Big Grove Brewery makes a special appearance as we dissect the Super Bowl. Unfortunately for us Vikings fans, a former Viking was going to win the Lombardi no matter what. We’re just happy Sammy D was victorious. We share roses and thorns from the big game and then dive into arguably the most common talker of all: the Vikings QB situation. We go through a list procured by friend of the show Dustin Baker at Vikings Territory of potential QB additions for the Vikings in 2026. None of them look great, but we’ve got all offseason to talk about it!We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! Although it’s no longer breaking news, the firing of Vikings GM Kwesi Adofo-Mensah will have ripple effects on the organization and we’re here for it. We liked the guy, but a change was needed. We get into the various threads of this personnel move by the Vikings, including the controversial paternity leave that the former GM took at a crucial point in the year. We digress at one point and talk about the embarrassment that the Pro Bowl has become, and we have a really good beer called the Red Zeppelin from Lake Time Brewery.  We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! Yeah we talk about other stuff, like the AFC and NFC Championship games. Yeah we give our roses, thorns and game balls to some non-Vikings people. Yeah we give our predictions for the Super Bowl. But the burning question on every Vikings fans’ mind is “Did the Vikings make a mistake in letting Sam Darnold go after the 2024/2025 season?” We get into the weeds on this topic and much more as we sip on the Red Rambler from Peace Tree Brewing. We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! We spend a lot of time talking about the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs, and some may question if Evan is truly a Vikings fan. Austin, on the other hand, makes his allegiances clear. Then we get down to business and discuss some offseason talkers that will likely continue to be discussed all offseason. And we enjoyed a great beer from Lion Bridge Brewing called Comfy Pants Winter Warmer, which we would highly recommend! We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! In honor of a (somewhat) dry January, we tried Big Grove’s newly released Zero Eddy, a non-alcoholic beer, and it was pretty good! We also stay true to our word and punish ourselves as a result of the Bears winning a playoff game. We hand out some game balls and talk roses and thorns from the Super Wildcard weekend before we round things out with a Vikings Territory article that helped us look ahead to the future of our Minnesota Vikings. We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! For the first time in show history, we talked about a game we attended together! We really enjoyed watching the Vikings beat the Packers in the 2025-26 season finale. Even more special was the fact that we may have seen CJ Ham and Harrison Smith play their last games as Vikings. Of course we had to look ahead to next season, and we make some predictions on who will be with the team and who will not. That, of course, leads us to talking about the QB situation, and we reference this article from Vikings Territory as we do. We had 2 different Iowa beers this week: Big Grove’s Arms Race and Toppling Goliath’s Pseudo Sue. We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! The Vikings defense looked great as they knocked the Lions out of the playoffs in the 2nd to last game of the regular season. Though the Vikings won’t be in the playoffs either, we really liked what we saw out of this Brian Flores defense. We think the team should do everything they can to keep the guy around as long as possible. Evan had to spin the Wheel of Purple Punishments because he predicted a Vikings loss in our pre-season predictions. He tried some really spicy almonds and needed some milk to wash it down. We also had a great Hazy IPA from Tellurian Brewing called Nectar of the Galaxies! We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! After the Vikings beat the Giants in Week 16, the question remains: play to win the game or tank for better draft picks and schedule for next season? The Vikings find themselves in that very scenario and Evan and Austin disagree on the best approach. Pro Bowl rosters came out recently, too, and we learned that 0 Vikings made the initial list. That tells you a lot about how this season has gone for our favorite team. Good news is we had a great beer (Red Headed Stranger) from Big Grove and we may have planned an impromptu road trip for the Vikings final game of the 2025-26 campaign.  We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us! For the first time all season, the Vikings have won back to back games, and things are looking up (kind of). We tried a really good beer from NoCoast, their Gingerbread Festive Ale. We spent time breaking down the win against the Cowboys on SNF. We may have jumped the gun a bit and talked about the Vikings 2026 draft options (I mean, who isn’t talking about the Vikings draft options now that they’re out of the playoffs?). And of course we looked ahead to the Vikings week 16 tilt against the New York football Giants. We hope you’ll grab your favorite beverage and join us!
