Marva and I breakdown a guilty pleasure of ours, Hell Fest! Ever since its release, one of us will always play it when Halloween season comes around. The kills and the setting the film never fails to increase our hype for our favorite time of year. 

We watch as a group of friends take on a Halloween event, one that doesn’t have the best of reputation, but not for the mazes; it causes attendees to join the dead, if you will. The Other will have you waiting for their next kill, and we both never fail to pay our respects to him as one of our favorite masked murderers. 

The question that remains is this: did you guys also enjoy Hell Fest, or do y’all fall with the masses and think it’s an okay film?

The sequel to the cult classic, Beetlejuice, just came out in theaters and it’s so good (some say) that you need to say its name twice: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice. 

MJ and I review this sequel film after much anticipation and try to see if it’ll break the curse of most sequels—that the original is always better, no matter what the sequel puts out. This is one of the few films that brings the both of us on opposite ends of the argument and we both explain why that’s the case on today’s episode!

Marvalous and I rewatched one of our favorite horror trilogies, Fear Street. Netflix's Fear Street had a lot of hype off the trailers and being book adaptations. For Marvalous and I, it didn't disappoint the first or 2nd time!

So here's our thoughts on this franchise that took us by surprise and left us wanting more.

Marvalous and I were finally able to watch the trending film on Netflix, Tarot. With the masses getting into horoscopes, tarot cards and readings more throughout the last few years, it was about time for someone to write a movie about an experience of these… “tools” with horror and the paranormal in mind.

What started off as a fun birthday celebration quickly turns into the fight of the groups life. Does the film carry the weight of being “Top 10” for the last couple of weeks? Or does the plot fall flat, like a house of cards?

Marvalous and I watched the final film in the X Trilogy by Ti West! With the hype the trilogy had, we expected nothing but praise for the film, ESPECIALLY with the marketing they put into it. To our surprise, not may people were raving about the film or even talking about it as much.

We take the time to dive into the movie, talk about our expectations walking into the film and how it compared to what we saw on the screens. The question that remains is this: do we end up agreeing with the majority, or is it the best horror movie of the year, like all its predecessors?
