MSNBC column hopes J.K. Rowling’s new book will be the ‘final nail in the coffin’ for her ‘transphobic legacy’

One of the first moments in which Rowling courted controversy with the LGBTQ community, particularly transgender activists, was when she defended a woman a woman on Twitter who was fired from her job for lamenting that "smart people" have been "tying themselves in knots to avoid saying the truth that men cannot change into women."

At the time Rowling wrote, "Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you. Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real?"

Meanwhile

A three-day Boise, Idaho Pride festival, sponsored by major corporations and beginning this week, will feature “drag kids” as young as 11 who will be “bring[ing] drag to the younger generation.”

The annual Boise Pride Festival & Parade— set for this weekend — will feature “Drag Kids” on stage, which the event’s guide describes as “a drag show like none other,” which will incidentally take place on the anniversary of 9/11.

While participants in “Drag Kids” are children ranging in age from 11 to 18 who “are ready to bring it all” to the festival stage, viewers may be of any age.

White House wants simultaneous COVID, flu shots: ‘This is why God gave us two arms’

The Biden administration on Tuesday encouraged all Americans to get an updated COVID shot as soon as possible, even if it means getting it the same day as an annual flu shot.

"The good news is you can get both your flu shot and COVID shot at the same time. It's actually a good idea," said White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha. "I really believe this is why God gave us two arms, one for the flu shot and the other one for the COVID shot."

Jha spoke along with other members of the administration’s COVID-19 response team, including Biden’s chief medical advisor Dr. Anthony Fauci. Jha noted that the Food and Drug Administration just approved new vaccines for Americans aged 12 and up that are designed to fight the omicron variant that is now prevalent around the world.

However, he said, no-one should doubt the influence of climate change on what has occurred.

However, why is everyone overlooking the fact that China is currently conducting geoengineering experiments.

A tool utilized for weather manipulation nearly turned into an instrument of disaster Monday.

In China's Sichuan province, a cloud-seeding rocket fell to the ground on a busy local walkway, just inches away from pedestrians.

Confirmation of the cloud-seeding operation was made by the Yeuchi County Meteorological Bureau.

So we have to believe the flooding is caused by the "Climate Crisis" and no one is questioning the geoengineering taking place in the neighbouring country of China?

UK aid spending is encouraging hunger-stricken Africans to eat insects, with projects aiming to develop the practice in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Zimbabwe.

In Zimbabwe, a development project is under way to use mopane worms in porridge served in schools. The slimy green caterpillars, which turn into emperor moths, are already commonly picked for consumption from vegetation during the rainy seasons in rural parts of Zimbabwe.

Police drop anti-lockdown incitement charge against Ballarat woman Zoe Buhler

‘Something rotten’ in the state of Victoria

A Ballarat woman who was charged with inciting others to breach a state lockdown has had her case thrown out of court.

Zoe Buhler was arrested in her Ballarat home in September 2020 while pregnant.

The mother-of-three livestreamed her arrest, showing police handcuffing her in a video that later went viral and sparked concerns from the Australian Human Rights Commission.

The arrest came after she created a protest event on social media, citing concerns about the impacts of lockdowns during the pandemic.

In the Ballarat Magistrates Court this morning, police prosecution applied to have the charge struck out, which was approved by Magistrate Mark Stratmann.

Why has the Solomon Islands blocked foreign ships from entering its ports and is China behind it?

The Solomon Islands has moved to temporarily stop all foreign naval vessels from using its waters, apparently as part of a bid to shore up control over its exclusive economic zones.

Manesseh Sogavare, prime minister of the South Pacific archipelago, said on Tuesday that the suspension would be in place until the adoption of a new approval process for ships seeking access to its ports was agreed in the wake of the Oliver Henry and HMS Spey – vessels belonging to the US Coast Guard and Royal Navy respectively – being turned away last week when they made refuelling requests.

Geoengineering as a means to slow climate change is one of the most contentious subjects in the field of climate science.

Along with being heavily debated within the scientific community itself, the topic is divisive among the general public.

Geoengineering describes the human attempt to halt the effects of climate change using technology.

The idea was first introduced during the Cold War but only became popular in 2006, when a Nobel Prize winning chemist named Paul Crutzen published a paper advocating for an "escape route" from global warming by artificially manipulating the atmosphere to counter C02 emissions.

Over the past fifteen years, experiments have been conducted to understand how this type of technology, like artificial clouds for example, could be developed and eventually deployed.

But it's currently illegal to facilitate any sort of geoengineering at a large industrial scale, because no one fully understands what effects it could have on other parts of the environment.

Paxlovid works, the vaccines don't

If you have the choice of taking an mRNA jab or the anti-viral medicine Paxlovid, take Paxlovid every time, a new study suggests.

The paper, from researchers at Harvard, offers more evidence that the sharp fall in Covid deaths this year has little to do with the mRNA vaccines - despite what vaccine advocates constantly insist.

Along with the fact Omicron is less dangerous than earlier coronavirus variants, much of the 2022 decline in deaths may come from use of Pfizer’s antiviral medicine Paxlovid, which sharply lowers mortality, the study suggests.

Deaths have fallen even faster in countries that did NOT use the mRNA jabs;

In most mRNA countries, deaths are now overwhelmingly in the vaccinated;

Highly mRNA vaccinated countries that did not have earlier Covid waves, such as Australia and New Zealand, have had some of the highest death rates this year, suggesting that immunity from earlier infections rather than the shots is crucial to reducing deaths;
