  • #43 Motherhood; dealing with thoughts, triggers and trauma
In this episode, that we recorded just before Christmas, I'm sat down with Ria Oliver, a maternal mental health and couples coach, talking about motherhood and how childhood traumas can resurface once we have our own families.

Ria helps transform the lives of women struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma or overwhelm, because she believes that helping women to feel emotionally strong, confident and empowered will in turn create happy, healthy families.

I couldn't agree more with Ria and I am so excited to be sharing this episode with you. I could have spoken to her for ages and there was so much that came up for me through listening to her.

This is one episode you won't want to miss.

  • #42 Could our diet save monkeys?
In this episode, Nutritional Therapist Ben Winthrop and I sit down to talk about the impact our diet and lifestyle can have on the world, especially on New World Monkeys.

Ben recently published an ebook about the issues facing the Amazon Rainforest and what we as individuals can do to support the area, and I thought the topic sounded so interesting that I invited him on to the pod to talk to me.

The ebook is packed full of information and gorgeous photos, and I'm actually going to get my girls to read it as well, as it's easy to understand, really enlightening, and full of practical tips.

If you would like to support the conservation of the Amazon Rainforest, or want to learn more about how our diet could help support New World Monkeys, I highly recommend purchasing the ebook, Sustainable Diets for New World Monkeys. 100% of profits go towards 'Amazon Conservation', a charity dedicated to protecting the rainforest.

  • #41 "It's just stress" with Jen Wilson
Stress and burnout are to be taken seriously, but so often we just brush it aside with "it's just stress". Until we completely hit the wall and have no choice but to take time out and regroup.

My guest this week is Jen Wilson, a wellness coach who truly knows what it's like to be in the middle of complete burnout.

In this inspiring episode, she shares her story and how she's using her trauma to now help other women who find themselves under chronic stress. It is not a situation that we just have to tolerate!

  • #40 Can we take the stress out of Christmas?
Viki Garbett and I sit down and talk Christmas. How can we take the stress out of it, how can we maintain good habits, and perhaps keep some sort of balance over Christmas?

I also hear about how Viki has started a new tradition with her girls. Every Thursday after school they cook together. This has really inspired me to get more inclusive in the kitchen and pass on some of my knowledge to my kids.

This episode is full of tips from Viki and hope you will find it as inspiring as I did.

Here are Viki's blogs on navigating Christmas:

  • #39 Raising children with Anna Bracher
It takes a village to support a mum. You can say that again.

In this episode I'm sitting down with Anna Bracher to have a conversation around raising children and the different situations we are in. Anna is a Brit in Norway and I am a Norwegian in Britain, and we exchange experiences and discuss the pros and cons of how the two countries view families and how we raise our children differently. We also share our thoughts and feelings around the lack of village and how much is put on mothers to hold the family together.

Anna Bracher is a nurse, health visitor and a mum. She is passionate about helping families to thrive. Her approach to sleep coaching is a holistic one: it is gentle and based on parental responsiveness and evidence. She has an open mind and an open heart, guiding parents in a gentle way, respecting their own parenting style and preferences while offering a non-judgemental listening ear.

  • #37 I don't have time with Amy Durston
"I don't have time to exercise, I don't have time to prepare healthy meals, I don't have time to meet up with friends, to relax, to watch telly, to tidy" etc etc etc.

Does any of this sound familiar? I think I've said all of these several times, often followed by "how come everyone else seems to manage? There must be something wrong with me. If only I had/didn't have XYZ".

In this short episode, Amy Durston (reflexologist, mother of three and overall brilliant person) and I have a chat about just this and share some thoughts on how we have changed our mindset and how we view the issue of time.

We also share some ways that we have managed to find time in a hectic life.

I hope you can relate to this and would love to hear your input on the time management issue.

Do you sometimes feel you should be doing more, achieving more, travelling more, not watch as much telly, or generally faff around?

  • #35 When did we stop trusting ourselves?
In this short episode, I'm sharing some of my thoughts around lifestyle change and the power influencers have over us when it comes to what we consume.

When did we stop trusting our own gut, intuition (spleen, if you're into HD), instincts, call it what you will, and blindly follow every advice that's dished out to us, even when our bodies are screaming NOOO?!

I'd love to connect with you on this topic.
