Episode #152
Brittani Williams, LCSW based out of San Diego, CA. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. We had so much fun discussing what is Hip Hop therapy, back in Season 2 episode 6 (audio only). We had to do it again, in honor of Hip hop's 50th anniversary. Happy Birthday HIP HOP!!
Hip Hop therapy was created by the late great social worker Dr. Edgar Tyson, Ph.D (my former MSW professor at Fordham University). The pioneer combined hip-hop with social science to help young men in the inner city deal with loss. May Dr. Tyson continue to RIP.
Since Brittani has been on the podcast, she now is the sole owner of a private practice. We discuss:
1. Imposter syndrome regarding raising her rates for sessions.
2. Her podcast (Wholehearted West Coast Living Podcast)
3. Her upcoming live podcast show.
4. Her recent EMDR training
5. Her Healmatic clothing line
6. Her top 5 hip hop artists of all time
7. The influence the late great Selena has on her.
