In this episode, Becky and Jason wrap up their conversation about capacity, priorities, and building a business that actually works with your life.
Life is going to change. Your priorities will change. Your capacity will change. And sometimes the economy, the market, or the way people buy will change, too. So rather than building a business that only works when everything goes according to plan, what if you built one that could adapt along the way?
Becky and Jason talk about what it means to build a resilient business; one that supports the life you want to live rather than requiring you to constantly rearrange your life around your business.
They also talk about making thoughtful decisions about your offers, revenue goals, and marketing strategies based on your actual capacity instead of someone else’s version of what your business should look like. Becky shares why realistic goals and a little planning can help you create a business that is sustainable for the long run.
Most importantly, this episode is a reminder that changing your business isn’t a sign that you’ve failed. Your business is allowed to evolve as you evolve. The goal isn’t to build something once and make it work forever; it’s to create a business that can grow and change alongside you.
In this episode, you’ll learn:
* How planning ahead can make vacations, holidays, and other busy seasons easier
* How to evaluate an offer or goal based on the time and energy it requires (not just the potential outcome)
* Why it’s important to notice what you enjoy, what you don’t enjoy, and what isn’t producing the results you want
* How to maintain momentum without feeling like your business has to grow every single month
* Why changing your business as your life and priorities change is a sign of adaptation (not failure)
Inspiration for this week:
Does your business support the life you want to live right now?
Take some time to pause and look at your business as it exists today.
What is working well? What isn’t? What are you doing simply because you thought you were supposed to? And what has changed in your life, priorities, or capacity that your business hasn’t caught up with yet?
You don’t have to change everything at once. Start by getting curious about what could work better and give yourself permission to let your business evolve with you.
In case we haven’t met before…
