Episode 05: Sandhiya Ramaswamy on Healing Through the Five Elements in Ayurveda
The connection that we all have to nature is undeniable- our body, mind and spirit moves and aligns with the cycles and flow of nature. Ayurveda literally means “the wisdom of living”, and it is a 5000 year old healing science from India. Ayurveda approaches healing from a whole person perspective and looks at the root cause of disease, rather than only the symptoms. It also recognizes the innate wisdom that nature has to heal us on not just a physical level, but an emotional and spiritual level too.
Today I am joined by Sandhiya Ramaswamy, an Ayurveda Health Coach, Educator, Chef and Spiritual Retreat Guide, to talk about how Ayurveda changed her life, and why it’s important for not just your physical health, but also your emotional, mental and spiritual health as well.
Join us as we dive into:
-the difference between Ayurveda and Western Medicine
-how to understand who you are based on your Ayurvedic constitution and what that actually means
-how to find empowerment through this mindful approach to your health and wellness
-discover the qualities of the three doshas in Ayurveda and how they can help you self diagnose yourself
-explore the 5 elements of nature and how they manifest in your body, mind and spirit, and why this is important
-why healing you physical body is the entry way into greater spiritual, emotional and mental alignment.
And much more!!
This is a beautiful conversation that covers not only an introduction to Ayurveda, but also dives deeper into how you can apply the 5 elements and your dosha type to how you lead and live!

Ep. 04: Living and Leading From Wholeness:
We are already whole and everything we need we already have within. We talk about this a lot, but how do you actually start to FEEL whole?
In a fix-it kind of world, where you’re always looking for the next thing that is going to make you "better", prettier, skinnier, more successful, how do you get out of fixing and into the energy of honoring what’s within you? How do you stop feeling broken and start feeling whole?
In this episode of the Wild Soulcast, we dive into:
*what is wholeness anyway?
*the role of avoidance, and how you can start to recognize unconscious patterns of avoidance playing out in your life
*why sitting with the uncomfortable parts is the key to starting a different kind of relationship with yourself
*how to integrate your parts versus “fix” parts of yourself
*why wholeness isn’t a destination but a state of being that you practice with compassion and deep presence with yourself
And much more!

How can we shift the relationship we have with food? How can we better listen to our bodies and get off the diet rollercoaster? How can we love ourselves more and accept our bodies (and ourselves) right where we are, without always trying to change, criticize and feel like failures when we don’t look like we “should” look like?
My guest on this week’s podcast is Corinne Dobbas, a Registered Dietician and Food and Body Image Coach, who works with her clients to develop an intuitive eating lifestyle, and helps them ditch their diets for good!
We go deep into:
-the difference between diet culture and the practice of intuitive eating, and how diet culture serves patriarchal ideals and prioritizes size and weight over women truly feeling good in their bodies,
-How using “willpower” can eventually sabotage your efforts and goals, and why willpower doesn’t encourage you to develop a deeper relationship with your body
-how our self worth and body size become interdependent in this culture and why it’s important to break free from this dynamic to build a deeper love of self within us.
-what the grieving process looks like when you decide to ditch the diets and try intuitive eating
-how diet culture actually replicates an abusive relationship, and how to start breaking free
-actionable steps that you can start taking now and common obstacles that you might encounter as you start to explore intuitive eating
-why nurturing the energy of curiosity can make all the difference in shifting your relationship with food and your body
And MUCH MORE!

The Art of Letting Go
Have you had the experience of old hurts and wounds that you’ve already done work on, that you already thought you’d resolved, coming back and resurfacing in your life? Has this made you feel frustrated and triggered a sense of failure, wondering why this old wounding is coming up again, and wondering why the work you did on it before didn’t “work?”
I hear this a lot in my individual work with clients, because they are generally women/womxn who have already done a lot of personal development work, and they wonder why nothing is “working” and why they continue to “fail” at resolving their core beliefs about themselves.
This episode is for you. I dive into:
-what does it actually mean to “let go?” We use this terminology a lot in the spiritual world, but we rarely talk about how to do it, or what it actually means to let something go.
-the common obstacles that show up when you are trying to release something in your life
-the relationship between letting go and your ego
-the difference between letting go of something in your mind, and letting go of something on all levels of your experience
-why we need to start looking at our healing journeys as a spiral, rather than a straight line
-how to shift out of feeling like we are failing in our growth work into recognizing the true depth of the growth that we’ve experienced
-why embracing what we are letting go of actually facilitates our ability to fully release it
-and how to involve the body in this process, and why that is crucial in this process

Subversion is a necessary part of living in your Wildness. By definition, Wildness is living in the vibration of your unique expression, leading a life that reflects that uniqueness, and one that often (if not always) resists the dominant narratives of society. Today I am joined by Blair Eckensen, the creator behind The Subversive Supper, a blog that details her journey of creating and living on a modern homestead with her family, where she practices intentional living, radical homemaking, and subverting the system that be to nourish herself and her family.
In this episode we explore:
-Food justice, and it's importance in elevating our planet, as well as taking back control of how we nurture ourselves
-How to subvert the way you eat everyday, with easy tips and tricks on how to start your own mini food revolution
-The role of food in our lives, and how to heal our relationship with it (especially as women)
-How to be in recovery from the things that numb us out, and create more disconnection within ourselves (like alcohol, social media, being busy, etc), and why it's important
-the difference between authentic gratitude and forced positivity, and why being with your uncomfortable parts is what starts the change within you
And MUCH more!
Blair's BIO:
My name is Blair and I write about my journey on our modern-day women-run homestead at thesubversivesupper.com . I am a mother to my daughter, a wife to my wife, a woman in recovery, a seeker, dreamer, maker, lover … I believe that living an intentional life, and caring for yourself so that you may be present and whole, is a radical and subversive act in this brutal world that we live. I believe that a life well lived is one that creates more than it consumes.
