To celebrate us nearing the end of 2023, I've put together a 3 week brand plan to help you step into 2024 feeling clear, confident and on top of your brand and how you're showing up. I feel like as the year goes on, as things get busier, it can be easy to let our brand fall a little bit by the wayside. I am guilty of this as well because there is just so much going on. It can be really hard to stay consistent, and it can be really hard to find that motivation. So basically with this little three-week sprint I'm going to take you through, I'm going to show you different activities and different tasks you can do each week for the next 3 weeks centred around different areas of brand building that will help you get everything realigned and refreshed.

Today's episode is another goodie and is all about deep niching. This goes beyond the usual sort of niching, because to be completely honest with you, I'm not about niching in the sort of traditional way. Especially for service based businesses, I don't think niching in terms of  “oh, I work with X Industry”, or “I work with women”, are useful. I think we can definitely use elements of these in our overall niching strategy, but I don't think we should be niching this way. Can you still have a brand that lets you be you, that is flexible and lets you still have fun? The answer is absolutely yes. Today we are diving deep into this because this is where I see a lot of designers and studios fall down. When your brand feels restrictive, it can start to feel suffocating. Some people need that clear direction with boundaries and guidelines to follow, and then there are other people who want some boundaries but they also want the permission to be able to break the rules a bit and do things their way. This episode will give you the tools to approach this so that you don’t feel restricted within your brand.

This episode is inspired by a chat that I recently had with one of my clients. During a brand workshop, she asked me how I would turn her branding into her brand. Honestly, I have not always been someone who understands the power of brand building. I studied brand design, worked in an agency for five years, and had so much experience under my belt yet I still did not fully understand what was involved and why this was so important. Brand building is not a new concept, but it's also not something that's taught a lot. This is the missing skill from so many business owners that I see, including myself once upon a time. It's such an important part of building a successful business that's going to go the distance, get you the results that you want and create the impact that you want to create.
