  • Live and Loud with Jim Wilson and Ross Coutts

    JB is joined by singer, Jim Wilson (@jim_wilson_music on Instagram) and music promoter Ross Coutts (@itsrossx on Instagram) of Xfire Live (@xfire.live on Instagram and xfire.live/ which is their website.

    On Friday, Xfire Live put on a show at Oran Mor with Wrest headlining and Jim as a support act along with future guest Joe Goodall (@joegoodallmusic on Instagram).

    Jim talks us through what it's like playing as a support act especially when there are noisy folk in the crowd, supporting Wrest in UK and Europe plus some of his previous projects.

    Someone has to get him in the recording studio as his voice is a treat and his songs are superb.

    If you're a Scottish act then Ross has probably played you on his radio shows. He's promoted gigs for around 20 years and has seen bands play at Crazy Golf in West Lothian to playing some of the biggest venues in the UK and in Europe.

    On Thursday 5th March, the second edition of the Scottish Live Music awards takes place at Oran Mor. We discuss some of the categories, there is an exclusive in terms of which four acts are playing and a brief insight in to what's happening musically in Scotland.

    We round up by discussing some of our favourite covers to listen to, or in Jim's case to play.

    JB and Matt aka Brownbear are joined by singer, songwriter Jude from exciting new band The Claes.


    There is discussion surrounding what it is like to start a new band in modern times with some interesting chat about how social media can be both a blessing and a curse.
