Our guest this morning is Ben Green. Ben is CEO of the American Red Cross of San Gabriel Pomona Valley.
Ben joined the Chapter as CEO in January, 2007. He brings with him 18 years of experience in non-profit management, having served as Executive Director of the Pasadena Senior Center and the Mizell Senior Center in Palm Springs.
Ben previously managed community programs, facilities and events as a Recreation Professional for 15 years.
Throughout his management career, Ben has received recognition for excellence and awards for community service, including Coachella Valley’s Newsmaker of the Year and the Illinois Jaycees’ Top 10 Outstanding Young Persons.
He is an active member of the Pasadena Rotary and serves on the Executive Committee of the Pasadena Chamber.
Ben’s relationship with the Red Cross began early in life. At the age of 15, he volunteered for the organization’s Lifesaving Program. He moved on to serve as a first aid and aquatics instructor throughout the 1970s, becoming a credentialed water safety instructor trainer in 1975.
Ben obtained his bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation administration from Missouri State in Springfield, Missouri.
Today, Tuesday, June 4 is Sidewalk CPR Day in Los Angeles County and Ben is here to tell us all about it.
