  • Houston Texans Making Moves!

We break down all of the Texans moves so far and try to sort out what it means and why you should trust the process. We also go back to Dynamo Corner to discuss the other orange team in town, talk Rockets injuries and double big lineups, and even discuss Cam Smith and Jose Altuve before we wrap up the pod. There was so much to talk about already we decided to get a jump on this week’s pod! Apologies and shout out to Mr. Sheppard. lol

  • Astros Spring Training Preview: Starting Pitchers & Bregman Signs With Boston

Space Cadet Sports host Paul Salazar Jr finishes breaking down the Astros spring training roster by discussing the starting pitching options. And yesterday Alex Bregman signed with the Boston Red Sox to play 2B for 3 years and 120 million. We talk about it and all of the potential starting pitching options as we lead up to finish up our spring preview. The Astros starters once again look like a decent bunch of pitchers that were undervalued. How are you feeling about them? Because we think the group looks solid.

  • Astros Spring Training Preview: Catchers & Relief Pitchers

Get ready y’all because there are a lot of names to get through as we look at the Spring Training roster and have finally gotten to pitching! We take a look at the last positional group: the catchers and start projecting the depth chart for the relievers in the Built For This era. Also of note, as of the editing of this podcast the Astros have re-signed outfielder Ben Gamel. They have a veteran to compete for some playing time and have a nice lefty bat off the bench. Buckle in folks because we have a lot of pitchers to get to (and many of them might factor in to pitch this season)!

  • Astros Spring Training Preview: Infielders

Since we’ve announced we’re going to preview the Astros Spring Training roster the Astros roster has been in flux! Since just last week the Astros have traded RHP Ryan Pressly and are in negotiations with 3B Alex Bregman and IF Jorge Polanco. So of course, this makes it the perfect time to breakdown the Astros infield going into Spring Training. But folks, the infield is looking good. Let’s take a look at the projected infield. P.S. I didn’t really talk too much about the non-roster invitees because most of the attention is on how the pros shake out. But we are excited to see Brice Matthews and Cam Smith this year as well as Jesus Bastidas, Tommy Sacco Jr and Zack Short; even if they are all even more of long shots to make the team with another veteran potentially joining the roster.

  • Bregman Open To Return To Houston

Right after I posted my Astros outfielders podcast episode the world blew up with news about a story that I felt was fake: potential left fielder Jose Altuve. Per Chandler Rome and Bob Nightengale, the Astros have been pushing to resign Bregman. They have also been pushing to find a trade partner for Ryan Pressly to help create cap space to sign Bregman. However, the stumbling block is, firstly: Press has a no-trade-clause. Whatever trade the Astros can dream up can be squashed if Press doesn’t want to go. That’s what he negotiated for. You can’t hate that. And secondly: if we re-sign Bregman that puts the newly signed replacement, Issac Paredes, in a tough spot. To help solve this dilemma Astros 2nd baseman Jose Altuve has declared that he’ll move to left if that means Bregman is back on the team. While this seems like some click-bait type mess there are real journalists reporting it and the players are the sources.

Will the Astros be able to pull this off? I was highly uncertain last night, but today I see the path…even if it is an unlikely one. Like the kid in Angels In The Outfield would say, “it could happen.” While not highly probable, I can see Bregman forcing Boras to take the deal. And if, IF, the trade is right I can see Ryan Pressly with a new team. But honestly, I say you do the deal either way. Even if Press doesn’t want to go. Here’s hoping, Houston. It could happen.
