What a week it’s been since we’ve last pod. The Astros swept the Rangers, and kept the boot in Houston for the 9th straight year. The Astros lost Yordan to injury and are announcing today that Paredes is set to return to the team. (And the Texans lose a MNF game and don’t shake any allegations made about the team this offseason.) The Astros are tied with the Seattle Mariners for first in the AL West and believe it or not this die-hard Astros fan really likes the Astros chances of winning this series. We’ll get into why I think this any preview the pitching matchups for the series. I even attempt to talk about the Texans before my brain turns to mush. (I’ve been sick this week and you can tell my feverish brain started slowing towards the end…lol…*soft weeping*.) The Astros have fought hard to be in the position they are in. Let’s root for them to keep fighting in this series!

Our first Monday Morning this season and what a bummer it is. The Texans lose to the Rams 9-14. The Astros struggles continue (yet they still maintain first place of the AL West) and my Paul’s Picks…well, maybe I should have let co-producer Carla make the picks this season. After a rocky weekend, come and talk Houston Sports with Space Cadet. Here’s hoping for a much better week in from the fields to the courts.

Foosball is finally here, y’all! So, it’s time for the return of Paulie The Geek. Here to make picks for every winner for the regular season this year. Carla and Paul take a look at every game in NFL week 1 and talk about your Houston Texans vs the LA Rams this weekend. We also have to talk about CROSS-UP-GATE 2025. It wasn’t pretty and it was terrible behavior. But can the Astros bounce back from this drama, and is it just bigger drama for us than it is for the team?? We’ll take a look at the drama, the acting-out, and a new injury that threatens the Astros…It’s time to be cheering the team on, not stoking the fires of controversy…Here’s hoping for the power of friendship to fix everything!
Vamos vamos Houston
A series split is pretty mid, but at least the Astros are still somehow in first place in the AL West. We take a look back at a Labor Day weekend series against the Angels and find the good and the bad. We also look at the Astros vs Yankees pitching matchups, spiral out of control with a dog on our lap and sneak a peak at the Houston Texans week 1 offensive line depth chart. Come for the series breakdowns, stay for the mind meltdown because a 60 pound dog won’t stop moving in my lap!
Vamos vamos Houston
College football is already here and foosball is right around the corner, y’all! Everyone in Houston is already football crazy but with the announcement of the initial 53-man roster…I think it’s gotten worse. Anticipation, excitement and worries are high in H-Town; so we take a look at the initial roster and opine about what other talking heads and my talking head thinks of it. Come for the counter-takes, stay for the mumbled ramblings! Can’t wait for football season.
Vamos vamos Houston
The Astros beat the Colorado Rockies in the rubber match today. Sure it’s not a sweep, but the team is still on top of the AL West standings. Yordan is back. La Grasa has found his curve again. And hopefully the heart of the Astros lineup can keep slugging against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. We consider talking about the Texans, but stay tuned tomorrow for a pod or article on the blog (we ran out of time…). Let’s talk some Astros baseball!
Vamos vamos Houston
The Astros offense woke up in Baltimore and it led them to a series win. Plus, our Yord and savior returns to the team. Hopefully, with a bag of Yordongs to keep the fireworks going. We look at the series in Baltimore and look ahead to the pitching matchups against Colorado. We then take a look at the Houston Texans as the preseason is over and they are looking to cut down to a 53 man opening day roster. Happy National Dog Day to all the dawgs.

The Houston Astros bad luck and uninspired play continues as they drop a series to the Detroit Tigers. Getting swept in the Motor City is a tough one but the Astros need to bounce back quickly as they play Baltimore tomorrow. In this episode Paul takes a look back at what went wrong this series and responds to some of the hot takes in HotTakeTopia. We also look at the non-story that is CJ Stroud’s hat. It’s a bummer of a day, the perfect time for a Space Cadet Pod.
Vamos vamos Astros
The Houston Astros were shut out twice in the series against Baltimore and it hasn’t been pretty. The Josh Hader news and the team’s performance as of late has gotten the home crowd to start rumbling. We grumble about the series against Baltimore and look ahead to keys to success for the next series that starts tomorrow. We also break out the Official Space Cadet Sports Houston Astros Panic Meter to see where we are emotionally. Also, we say goodbye to John Metchie III as the Texans trade him away today. It’s a tough sports day Houston fans; but if you’re down: I’m your clown.

The Astros continue their Good News/Bad News season with a series win against Boston and the news that closer Josh Hader will be out for a minimum of 3 weeks with a shoulder injury. Your favorite host, Paul Salazar Jr, takes the listeners through the last two games of the Boston series, speculates on the bullpen, and previews the pitching matchups of the upcoming series against Baltimore. He attempts to tell everyone to cálmate, but tensions are rising as the season is approaching it’s final month. And it can’t all be baseball as we close with some Comets rumors and an Rockets embarrassing schedule release. I don’t know what that was, but it was not it. Lemme know what you thought
