We welcomed back Dr. John Brandenburg for this 1 hour 58 minute program. The first segment focused on John's theory about Mars, nuclear explosions in its past, and the presence of specific isotopes in the Martian atmosphere supporting his theory. John opened by reading an email a Space Show listener sent him suggesting that time alone would explain the presence of the isotopes he was referencing in his theory. John explained why the listener was wrong and suggested the listener check out his references in his Sept. 2016 AIAA paper as the listener attended that talk. Welcome to our 90 minute program with Dr. Erik Seedhouse to discuss his latest book "Spaceports Around the World, A Global Growth Industry." Erik noted that most launch sites around the world are now referred to as spaceports. In addition, not only did he talk about all the spaceports in the United States, we talked about spaceports in other countries, specifically Europe, Russia, China , India and a few more. He talked about the regulatory environment for the US spaceports for both orbital and suborbital launches. Regarding suborbital, he talked about horizontal takeoff and return plus vertical takeoff and landing. Spaceport economics were discussed, especially with Spaceport America in New Mexico. We welcomed back to the show Dr. Pascal Lee of SETI, The Mars Institute, and NASA Ames. During our nearly two hour program, we talked about Pascal's award winning documentary film, "Passage To Mars" which covers his Northwest Passage Drive Expedition to Devon Island.
