The 2026-27 season is upon us and the boys are back to preview what this year has in store. Who will go up, who will drop into the third tier of Spanish football and who will be the dark horses to look out for. 

In this season preview Alex and Liam will talk about all 22 clubs in detail across parts 1-3, and then in part 4 will give you their predictions.

What a season we have in store! We have been joined by giants Real Mallorca and Real Oviedo, that means of course the Asturian Derbi is back, as is the Canarian derbi with Tenerife promoted. We have representation in Catalonia once again with the promotion of Sabadell and relegation of Girona. We are as diverse as ever with not one, not two, but three island teams, an enclave and a team playing outside of Spain, Pique’s Andorra FC. Even the B team cloud has a silver lining, Celta B maintains our Galician representation and means that we have double the chance of seeing the future stars of Spanish football. 

With the departure of some big boys, it means that Segunda is once more a league where anyone can beat anyone, and WE ARE HERE FOR IT. Roll on the 2026-27 season.

Congratulations to Málaga CF, promoted to LaLiga following their thrilling 1-2 victory over UD Almería. It was quite the game and has been quite the story for the club this season, going from battling relegation to pushing for promotion and winning in dramatic style.

The play-offs are here and in this week's show Alex and Liam review both play off semi-final first legs. It was honours even as CD Castellon and Almeria drew 1-1, whilst Malaga won 0-1 in Las Palmas to take an advantage back to La Rosaleda.

There is also good news from the 1RFEF play off semi-finals. Last week it looked like two B sides would be joining us next year, now there is just one B side in the four sides who have made the final.

In the final Jornada of the season we found out our champions, Racing Santander, as well as the four teams that would make the play offs (UD Almeria, Malaga CF, UD Las Palmas and CD Castellon), as well as the two who would miss out (Burgos CF and SD Eibar).
