The play-offs are here and in this week's show Alex and Liam review both play off semi-final first legs. It was honours even as CD Castellon and Almeria drew 1-1, whilst Malaga won 0-1 in Las Palmas to take an advantage back to La Rosaleda.

There is also good news from the 1RFEF play off semi-finals. Last week it looked like two B sides would be joining us next year, now there is just one B side in the four sides who have made the final.

Jornada 41, the penultimate of the season and we now know our two automatically promoted sides, Depor joining Racing Santander. We also now know 3 of the 4 relegated sides. Cadiz’s victory condemned Real Zaragoza, Cultural Leonesa and Huesca to Primera Federacion next season, whilst Mirandes’ victory meant that they will have a final day relegation showdown against Leganes in Butarque, winner takes all, the loser will be relegated. All four of the play off places are still up for grabs with 6 teams chasing four places on the final day of the season.

The race for the playoffs is hotting up with dropped points for Castellon and Eibar, Burgos the big beneficiaries, whilst Malaga and Las Palmas both won to strengthen their play-off position. 

Down the bottom Cultural won to delay the inevitable relegation another week and Real Zaragoza lost again to drop to bottom of the table and are as good as down. It was late heartbreak again for Mirandes and the survival target edged a little higher as Cadiz picked up a point.

This week saw a few clubs scraping through by the skin of their teeth. Top two chasers Racing and more so Depor won, but only just, Las Palmas stormed back into top two contention and there were points dropped in the top six race as Castellon lost, Burgos could only draw and Malaga beat Eibar in Ipurua. 

Down the bottom there was a relegation six pointer which ended in disappointment for both teams, and Granada dealt another blow to Real Zaragoza's survival hopes.
