She seems to have him on the ropes legally as they battle over copyright infringements, and it appears that Joe may end up losing his zoo. But does he finally have a deep pocketed ally that will come in and help him fight what seems to be an insurmountable battle? On Episode 287 of #TSRP we open up the show with some of Spann’s Random Thoughts, and some Listener Feedback before we get In The News. And our first story in the news is a big one as Senate Democrats have come to an agreement with the White House on a Stimulus Package to help the U.S. economy during this pandemic. Trump is already talking about opening the up the U.S. economy by Easter despite the rapid number of new cases of COVID-19 popping up across the country. Facebook is donating over 720K facemask from it’s emergency stash due to this pandemic, and could this new Coronavirus stimulus package lead to the creation of a new digital currency? Conspiracy theorist are having the time of their lives these last few weeks.

Then it’s off to Blue Blazes, where Chicago Police have had to break up house parties after the state of Illinois went under a Shelter In Place Order. Liquor stores in New York State are considered essential and will remain open during their Shelter In Place Order. Essence Fest, is looking to defy the odds, as they plan to go ahead with the event held in New Orleans in July as scheduled. Will they be able to pull it off? Should they be able to try? And in Los Angeles, the Mayor has announced that they will be terminating the water and electric services to non-essential businesses that refuse to close during their Shelter In Place Order.

Over to Proud To Be An American we go, where a new CBS Poll has some surprising results as to how Americans are feeling about the way that Donald Trump is handling this Coronavirus Crisis. Texas Lt. Governor Dan Patrick, believes that older Americans are willing to sacrifice themselves for the younger generation as soon as possible to get the economy rolling again. And Liberty University, founded by Christian Fundamentalist Jerry Falwell, and currently run by his son, Jerry Falwell Jr. is under fire as they have told students and faculty to return to the school. This happening again, despite the rising cases of COVID-19 throughout the country.

Spann and Cliff are back on the mics with their sophomoric shenanigans on episode 67 of #BNCPod and we do a little bit of catching up, as the fellas haven’t had a chance to really chop it up in the last couple weeks. Then we get to the sports, and we begin with the biggest story of Tom Brady leaving the New England Patriots, and signing a new deal with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What could these last few years with the Buc mean for Tom Brady’s legacy going forward? And how will the New England Patriots look without their longtime field General?

Darius Slay was traded from the Detroit Lions to the Philadelphia Eagles this week, and on his way out the door, he let it be known that he and Lions Head Coach, Matt Patricia, and a very rocky relationship. Do the fellas believe this will be Matt Patricia’s last season as Head Coach of the Detroit Lions? Drug Testing in the NFL, could it be seeing an overhaul? Like players not being suspended for positive test for banned substances? And if so, why would those players still be suspended for testing positive for Marijuana per the new proposed rules? We’ll be discussing that, and a whole lot more. So with it being Spring and all, we know some of y’all are living in some pretty warm spots. It’s been a tough week and a half, but we’re HERE with episode 286 of #TSRP We’ve got so much to get into, Spann starts us off with a few Personal Thoughts before we hop In The News, where the Coronavirus is dominating! The Big Three US Automakers, General Motors, Ford, and Fiat Chrysler have shuttered all of their North American manufacturing plants as a result of the virus. AT&T suspends their data caps on high speed internet, as a result of the virus. And we dip into some of the primary elections of the last two weeks, as Joe Biden has now run up a very significant delegate lead over Bernie Sanders.

Then we’re off to Blue Blazes, where a Black airline passenger attempted to snatch the soul out of a white woman who had the temerity to call a Black flight attendant the N-Word. A young boy clowns the police after they accuse him of stealing, yet they didn’t find him with anything. A student was suspended from school for selling squirts of hand sanitizer to their classmates. And apparently, people need to be told that snorting cocaine and drinking bleach will not help them if they contract the Coronavirus.

We jet on over to the Special Hotep Unit, where Harvey Weinstein learns his ultimate fate after being convicted of rape, and a criminal sexual act. We know we’ve already had a funeral, but still.

Then it’s Proud To Be An American time, as the Trump Administration mulls over the idea of giving Americans checks to the tune of $1000 in an effort to keep the economy afloat. The Michigan Attorney General, Dana Nessel has issued a Cease and Desist to hardware chain Menards, as they have been accused of price gouging during this Coronavirus crisis. A Tennessee Man tried to get rich by hoarding hand sanitizer with designs to sell it at a stark markup, and the internet made sure to point him out. And Charlemagne The Dude, goes in on Joe Biden as the Presidential hopeful has not made an appearance on his nationally syndicated radio morning show, The Breakfast Club.

It’s been a few weeks since the fellas have been able to get together and get on these mics and talk some smack. But we’re back at it this week with episode 65 of #BNCPod and we get things kicked off talking a little bit of baseball. As Spring Training is upon us, and teams are preparing for the season to come, apparently the use of Pine Tar is running rampant in the game, despite it being against the rules in MLB. Could this be yet another example of if you’re not cheating, you’re not trying? There was a boxing match a couple of weeks ago between Deontay Wilder, and Tyson Fury, a match in which Fury won, but Wilder is saying part of the reason he lost the fight is because of the 40 pound costume he was wearing on his way to the ring. Is this just a terrible excuse, or is there any validity to what he’s saying? And then we move on to the NBA, as we come to the stretch run of the season, many teams are vying for a shot at the playoffs. This year, the Golden State Warriors don’t have a shot, and Charles Barkley has been critical of the play of one Draymond Green this season. Green responded to some of the recent criticisms while addressing the press after practice, and let’s just say he didn’t mince words. But did he have a point, or is just a case of Green not being able to handle the criticisms after being successful for so long?

And Spike Lee, the longtime New York Knick fan is embroiled in a fued with the team owner James Dolan. Charles Oakley is actually asking the NBA to investigate Dolan, and possibly force him to sell the team. Do y’all think it will happen? First show of March 2020! Already a quarter of the way through the year, and 2020 so far has been no punk. But we keep it pushing anyway. We kick things off with some Listener Feedback and appreciation for those of you who never fail to show us love here at The Spann Report Podcast Network before Spann riffs through some Random Thoughts. Then we get into the meat of the show as we roll on over In The News, where the city of Nashville was hit hard by tornados this week. HBCU, and Spann’s alma mater, Tennessee State University was hit hard with over $20 million in damages to it’s campus. Big political week going on as well, as we go through the results of Super Tuesday, and what that could mean for the Democratic party going forward.

Then we’re off to Blue Blazes, where former girlfriend of R. Kelly, Azriel Clary has alleged, that Kelly once forced her to eat feces out of a cup, and recorded her doing it. A Deer stood it’s ground against a man who calls himself a hunter with comical results, and legendary rap group Public Enemy has parted ways with their long time hype man after a rift emerged over the group’s involvement in a Bernie Sanders rally.

Off we go to Proud To Be An American, where Nathaniel Woods, a man who’d been on death row for the killing of three police officers despite his continued insistence on his innocence, was executed this week after Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey refused to grant Woods a stay on his execution. Voters in Texas had tremendously long waits to cast their ballots in last Tuesday’s primaries, with some of them having waited nearly seven hours. But in Georgia, thanks to the efforts of people like former Gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams, they are registering more voters than the state’s Republican legislation can purge in an effort to combat voter suppression.

We’re back with week on a leap year February 29th for episode 284 of #TSRP and we’re joined this week with friend of the show Stephanie of the Mocha Minutes AND Ratchet Aunties & Uncles Hour Podcasts. Then we get into the meat of the show as we roll In The News, where a thief in Roseville Michigan chased a loss prevention officer BACK into the store after robbing the place. Michigan State Representative Sherry Gay-Dagnogo goes to the White House to ask Trump personally to grant clemency to former Detroit Mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick. And shockingly, McGruff The Crime Dog actor John Morales gets a 16 year prison sentence for marijuana and firearms possession.

Then we’re off to Blue Blazes, where Trump supporters gave country singer Garth Brooks an earful after they saw him in a football jersey that had “Sanders 20” on the back. And boy would they have egg on their faces. And are millennials killing off cologne and aftershave. Many of them admit to no longer wearing the products. Are you still wearing cologne and/or aftershave? And Snoop Dogg continues his apology tour with an appearance on the Facebook Watch show, Red Table Talk. Some folks are upset that Snoop’s feet wouldn’t be held to the fire, some feel like Snoop shouldn’t have apologized to begin with. After this, can we finally be done with this entire thing?

Then we venture into The Special Hotep Unit, as Umar Johnson is engaged in a battle with the forces for Common Sense, Logic, and Equity. He alleges they are trying to stop a speaking event for him in Detroit, and that they’ve spread rumors that he’s a crack addict? Could it be so? Was the event canceled? We’ll find out! And Harvey Weinstein has been convicted of rape in a court of law, and Hoteps around the world are mourning the passing of one of their favorite retorts. We’ll bring you live coverage of the funeral of “What About Harvey Weinstein?”

And in Proud To Be An American, the United States Congress has FINALLY passed a law making lynching a federal hate crime, 65 years after the death of Emmitt Till. And in the Justice Department, they’ve created an office dedicated solely to the purpose of the Denaturalization of immigrant citizens.
