There is no doubt anxiety and depression can be very difficult and frustrating to deal with. It's a misunderstood disorder in so many ways. As Van and I have learned, being the person experiencing symptoms is already tough, but also being involved with someone who is afflicted with mental illness, it's not always easy to understand. Someone suffering from depression and/or anxiety (to name a couple symptoms) is in a constant battle with themselves just to get out of bed in the morning, so they can make it through the day. Most of the time, they feel like they are dying inside. It takes the motivation and ambition right out of someone. Mental Illness is no doubt, one of the hardest things anyone can deal with and it affects everyone in so many different ways.
In Episode 22, Van and I dive into our own experiences dealing with mental illness and how debilitating it can be for us. We also touch on how it has people in our lives including my daughter, Catelynn, who has been diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder and panic attacks. There is nothing worse than seeing your child suffer and not be able to help.
