So we've all done it. It's part of being an adult. Make our menus for our precisely planned out weekly meals. Then make the list of everything we need to make the meals based on our menus. Grab our phones with the calculator and all the apps for the discounts we need. And then take our confident, well-prepared asses to the grocery store to get ONLY what's on the list and save ourselves a bunch of money and time. The peptalk we have on the way reminds us that we own that store, we got this, nothing can go wrong. Just a quick in and out and boom, we're done. Meals will be lovingly prepared every night at home and we will have made sure we have everything necessary so we won't need to step foot in the store again for at least another week.
This sounds good in theory. It really does. And I honestly think it's doable. Just not by me, apparently because let me be the first to tell you, I SUCK AT ALL OF THE ABOVE. I break all the shopping rules. I forget ingredients, I make a list and then wind up not getting everything on it and adding one or two or 37 things I don't need. Only to leave the store 2 hours later feeling like a hot mess and not feeling like I accomplished what I set out to do in the first place, which was to OWN THAT BITCH!!!!
Turns out, I don't own it... and it's just a big mean bully as far as I'm concerned. I wind up in the fetal position at home drinking alcohol and wondering how it all went downhill so quickly and what's more, how I'm going to explain to my husband that I spent $200 more than I budgeted for!!!!
So, shopping?? No thanks, I'd rather not!!!
