Breaking out my serious tone in this week's potcast, because we get serious. About cancer. Cannabis is a known option for treating the effects of chemo and cancer, but then there's the whispers of cancer cures in concentrate forms... Rumors and whispers aren't the most reliable information, and cure is far from what we want to start saying, but even science says cancer shows promising potential. But people don't have time to wait for research! So let's get real about how to go about this, in the labs and in the home. Whether you want to fight against cancer, or just fight for your right to party while living with cancer, cannabis has your back. For this week's Safety Meeting, I talk about an enlightening (and pain relieving!) strain review: Candyland.

Big things are happening around mental health and medical marijuana, and it has a lot to do with veterans who are fighting for their right to treat their friends, family and selves for PTSD. But veterans aren't alone in this struggle. Many people can and will suffer with and from PTSD and its associated problems. I'm one of them. Treating it with cannabis is no different than any other condition: it's how your resources meet your needs. That's a lot of variables. So let's Spliff 'em out while I toke on some White Buffalo. Then, I looked more into AUMA, has it changed my mind? No. But, I am a bit better informed and do have more facts I can share about it with you. You make up your own mind.

Why does cannabis work so well sometimes, and not so great other times? Well, it's all about how this complex system works with YOU, mostly. To wrap our tiny brains around this massive concept, many refer to the Entourage Effect, but there's too many shining stars on this bud to focus on just one! Hundreds of identified components makes this a puzzle for the ages. The Synergism of cannabis is the key to its success, and scientists' failures. Sometimes the key to understanding something isn't just about how it breaks apart, but how it all fits back together. As we hang out to Safety, I bring out the activist and get blunt about California's upcoming Prop 64. The difference between good and bad legislation usually boils down to semantics, where good legislation reads like Shakespeare. Unfortunately Prop 64 reads like the IRS code. Will California sell out medical cannabis and its patients so it can get rich and stoned? I hope not...

If you haven't heard, Southern California has been a bit toasty lately, and it's really starting to get to me. My sinuses are easily irritated by a lot of air quality issues, but I've never been able to cope with them more easily! Let me tell you my not so secret tips and tricks. Hint hint: it's our friend THCA! But I also have some interesting hypotheses on CBDA ...has it been under my nose this whole time?! My personal pot journey takes an interesting turn. We hit up some more stoner myths as I aim to soothe my stoner needs with some bong loads, and in the Safety, get ready for the funny! Mom funny.

Hey everyone! Let's talk about the elephant-shaped cloud in the room, secondhand smoke. Is it something we should be considerate of? Yeah! Let's talk about some of the reasons why, and how it might or might not give you a contact high. If it's your hotboxin', a clambake, the shotgun or just some stoners being rude, there's still patients to consider on the other side of this. A quick one, don't forget your favorite munchies as we gather for a Safety Meeting.
I see you've come for the clambake...

Cannabis concentrates is one of the most controversial topics in the industry, politically speaking. It's saving lives, children's lives! But it's also some of the purest, most potent "weed" you'll ever try. The problems persists that the more potent the pot the more impactful the medicine, which creates a paradox for prohibition. (Tell that to the DEA!) Luckily, getting your hands on it is getting easier every day. But it won't be as easy as that! Finding the right medicine in a very ambiguous marketplace is often misleading. Purposely misleading. We're laying down some of the basics when it comes to determining what type of concentrate is right for you. The traditional THC-rich Phoenix Tears, or the newest miracle/snake oil, CBD? To help you out further, I give a personal experience so you have an idea of the power of bioavailability. We cover your alternatives if a black mucky goop isn't your preferred medicine. And then we wrap it up with some more basics of safe access in the Safety Meeting.

There are plenty of skin conditions that can be treated by cannabis topicals, but the face is a special concern for many of us. Whether you use cannabis topically or as an edible, you can find benefits that give you that glow. Or at least help you prevent unsightly scarring. From Acne to Psoriasis and then some! Cannabis brings about that homeostasis that keeps us looking as young as it helps us feel. If you find that weed can sometimes make you break out (yikes!) there are some tips in there for you too. I love it when weed can help treat the contraindications of weed!

Hey guys! I know I've been in a funk lately, and I finally open up about why. It segways nicely into this week's topic, Lady Stuff. But you don't have to just be a lady, or even a woman, in order to get something useful out of this week's topic. First, you might laugh. That's nice. Then you might push your comfort zone a little. That's healthy. But most importantly, you'll learn more about the people who make up the majority of this world's population and how cannabis can keep them a happier healthier person. And that rocks! There are many ways out there to use weed for those period problems, to save the boobies and the women too! And smoking weed is far from the most innovative. Let's talk about those vaginal suppositories, or as "they" like to say...'weed tampons!' If you don't have access, don't worry. Get innovative. I talk about some of the most women friendly companies in the CA market, and make sure we get in some intimate girl talk before we say ciao.

We all get them every now and then, those annoying or even detrimental headaches. The rumors are out there that cannabis can help. And it's true! But, like everything, it's about finding the best strain for your needs. Migraines, cluster, ideopathic, sinus...there are a lot of types of headaches, so not every option will work for every person. But there are innovative options for those who don't mind toking, and those who do. Close the curtains, find that eye mask and let's see how cannabis can work for that pesky headache (the sooner the better, yo!) This week's Safety Meeting covers some new ways to feel fancy when spending lots of money on concentrates. Cuz we all could use a little more baller in our lives.

Many of us have furry friends in our lives whom we wonder if cannabis can help. The short answer is yes, but there are a lot of caveats! From smoking, to eating to topicals (which I didn't even talk about this episode! Sheesh!) animals have an ECS that is just as beneficial to them as ours is to us. But not all animals are alike, and toxicity is a big issue! So many factors can change the dynamics of what would make the best medicine; the delivery and the composition. Terpenes and cannabinoids should be just as nuanced and relative as you'd want for yourself, but the options are slim. CBD is the biggest fad, for its relative safety, but it might not always be the best option for your four-legged BFF. Especially if you're just paying for hope in a bottle! Once you get a trusted product how to help without hurting? A little dosing advice that never changes -start slowly!
